In the middle ages, primitive armies used the human wave tactic where tens of thousands of men fought in a narrow area usually, the side which has the larger number of men won. Agames know no other military tactic and have been using it for the past 47 years. Generals like Tsadqan used it in 1999 in Igi Mekel and lost over 25,000 men in a few hours war. Agames used it this week and lost over 13000 dead and captured. Human wave may work when the other side also uses it. But the Eritrean military is a highly trained and led army and never employs it. Eritrean life is too precious to be wasted in such a callous manner. What the Eritrean army use is deadly artillery from 30-40 kms to destroy the human waves. When you have thousands of men charging like animals, one artillery shell destroys hundreds and scatters the rest effectively disorienting the men and their inept generals. After that, it is like shooting ducks, But what is incredible is that Agame have not yet learned from their past failures. Why does Tsadqan think that what failed in 1999 is going to succeed now?
