I heard somewhere that the current economic and political crisis in Sri Lanka, which has effectively risked that country's total collapse, is associated to China's dept entrapment (stylishly coined as a "debt-trap") and it has been in the making for a while, the report says. If it is true, then it is high-time to second guess the glitter of new technology and assess the true consequences. We need to draw a lesson from those who have been there before us.

The debt-trap doesn't go alone but in conjunction to the similarly smartly coind phenomenon of data-trap. Ever since we heard about the constructing and offering of the new head office of the AU, in Addis, rumors were intense that China has something in store for the rest around the world. It can only be a rumor in my wish. This building reportedly was pre-equipped with a magnificent tools of colllecting data and directing it to the intended center, which only the engineers of the skyscraper may know.

I am not sure if Ethiopia may have what it takes to jump-in the high-end of state of the art technologies of data capturing and processing (including its transmissions) right now.

The british intelligence agency claimed recently China is trying to control the whole world by the name of spreading new technologies and affordable funds to everywhere around the world.

CEO Frehiwot turned a completely dysfunctional company with one of Africa's worst services into a competitive company that is on its way to become one of the top in Africa in less than 4 years. Without the transformation of Ethio Telecom, companies like Ride (Uber), food deliver companies, online shops, digital payment systems, mobile money and many more businesses were unthinkable just few years ago. Thousands of jobs were created due to the transformation of Ethio Telecom.

We need less political and party affiliated/oriented leaders and more professional leaders like her. Ethiopian Airlines excels for over 70 years exactly because of professional leadership.

It think we need to stop appointing people from PP Amhara, PP Oromo etc. at the top of crucial positions and instead try to get top professional leaders that can turn around government institutions. Political and party affiliated/oriented leaders have shown to be mostly incompetent, clueless, corrupt and unable to be provide good services to the public. Time for professionals at the top of our institutions!

You can literary read the passion and the commitment written allover her face. What a contrast to most of our inept PP officials.
