Sorry, I have to open another thread since my other thread was spammed by Yaballo with his long posts, images and videos that normally make a constructive dialog impossible and kills a thread
Thank you Yaballo in advance for not coming here and killing my thread yet again
Watch the first 3 minutes.

GERD in Context: Just 1 turbine out 14 started generating 375 MW. That is more power than other dams like Tekeze dam (300 MW) can generate. The second turbine is in test phase and will soon generate power.

Yeah, now you brought good news. Every village would get light, is that true baby?

Astemari,
I had a quick question earlier. Let me ask it here. I hope it fits your new thread.
Is it not true to say that Atse Haile Selassie educated Meles Zenawi? If true, thanking both for this project would mark a continuity of history of the project.
One more question based on the speech. I didn’t know Egypt has a power grid connection with Europe. If so, wouldn’t a solar power project in Africa somewhere close to Europe generate as much power as GRD for the same or lower cost? Just wondering.

Tolcha, that is what we all hope.

Philosopher Naga Tuma, I don't think I am able to understand your philosophical questions let alone to answer them
But if I have to guess, I think the answer to your first question is yes while I am not well versed to answer the second.

Atemari, I am sure you mistook my scribbles for philosophy.
