Stop trying to re-write history. The cobwebbed dead midget might say what you quoted him say to kiss the Amhara behinds, but no other Shaebia dethroned and chased mengistu and dergue.
There was no dergue troops in tigray and obviously dergue was not fighting against the Amhara. Over 300 thousand dergue troops and their sophisticated arms were inside Eritrea even way before mengistu.
Once shaebia liberated Massawa two years before the complete freedom of Eritrea, it started to encircle the dergue troops, cut all their logistics and there was a minor fight in Dekemhare which Shaebia routed the rest of mengistu troops, and the rest was history.
Even woyane was scared to go to Addis until Shaebia forced them to go occupy the power vacuum and lead the country through peace and equality. Shaebia actually had a military base in Addis for over 3 years baby sitting the ungrateful agames.
So, stop your fake history. Agame leaders always say crap when they are afraid of others.
So he was trying to hoodwink the Amharas at the same time vaccinating their women which prevents them to have Amhara babies. That is genocide at its highest.

Gebreab cigarellaa

Derg had less then 100,000 soldiers serving in eritrea.

Meles zenawi never said Amharas fought derg in eritrea but he specifically mentioned amharas fought during the later part of the war where derg was standing in amhara region trying to hold resistance to the attacks from z north. When derg lost tigray and Eritrea it was the amhara farmers that fought the derg and let tplf and eplf cross into our lands while fighting along so it had to flee back to addis and then collapsed. Meles said derg would have never fell in gojjam and shewa if it wasnt for the peoples support !

This interview was from the 90s the sterilization of amhara women began in 2007 (20 years later)

There is no need to insult each other while the stories that you are telling complete each other. Cigar is right that the dergue army was defeated in Eritrea after a long, bloody and exhausting war. Then the push towards Addis became less difficult. Of course Shabia did an extensive study of the areas in Ethiopia that the fighting took place. They had their well-trained commando forces ( some of them my family members ). In addition to that there was co-ordination with former POW fighters. Without popular support you do not get any where. Indeed the people did their share.
