ANTICO, I don't think you know the Maoist Shaebia yet. True, there is no comparison to the financial generosity of Eritrean ethnic Tigrinyas in Africa. Last month about US$ 190,000 was raised in Israel within three days.
This time, it was with in less than 48 hours that more than US$ 700, 000 was raised by the same ethnic Tigrinyas to treat the Eritrean cancer patient and to support his family of six children.
But the Maoist Shaebia which is under many financial constraints and sanctions will definitely not let all the money to this family alone.
The patient and the family, if lucky, may get US$ 100,000 for treatment and to buy a modest house in Dubarwa or Mendefera, the rest of the money will fill many plugs in the Eritrean "economy". If the money arrives safely to Eritrean coffers, Shaebia will celebrate this as a victory of its die hard supporters, even though a lot of the contributors are not its fans.

Mesob, The man is expected to be treated for cancer-related sickness someplace outside of Eritrea. Does it make sense to you that the Eritrean government wants all money paid back to Eritrea via Western Union? The foreign currency exchange where is not beneficial to the patient.

ANTICO, I understand your concern very well but the poor patient is under Shaebia's law and he is technically their property. Hagos Kisha, the Eritrean moneybag, have already a plan about this money.
