If Meles Zenawi was the leader of Eritrea!

Post by Axumezana » 20 Jan 2022, 04:52

If Meles Zenawi had been the leader of Eritrea for the similar years he ruled Ethiopia, Eritrea could have been transformed to the Dubai of the Horn Africa. He could have established peaceful strategic relation with all the neighbours of Eritrea and develop Assab and Masswa sea ports as the gate ways of the Horn Africa( serving South Sudan, Sudan Uganda and Ethiopia) and exploiting the mining sector to generate quick capital. With the earning from sea ports and the mining sector he could have developed the red sea shore as huge tourist attraction and invest on human capital by building at least five universities that provide world class education. He could have implemented developmental economic model with the private sector and foreign investment as the engine of growth and position Eritrea among the top economic performers of the world. He could have also harnessed wind and solar energy to make Eritrea energy sufficient to drive it's industrial revolution and develop transportation infrastructure( roads, rail way and air ports) and modern housing for millions of Eritreans. . Last but not least Eritrea could have owned one of the best airlines in Africa. While Isaias has been discussing his failures of the past thirty years from Adi Halo, Meles could have been travelling and participating in various global forums sharing his experience on how he transformed Eritrea to middle income country within a short time period.
