Oromo vow to encircle and suffocate Amhara

Post by AbyssiniaLady » 14 Jan 2022, 02:11

Disarming Amhara is out of the question, Instead, Amhara should start stockpiling weapons and fuel because a war between Oromo and Amhara is inevitable. Right now. Oromo are armed to the teeth with the blessing of Ethiopia federal government. who does Abiy think he is fooling.

Both Amhara and Oromo regions are landlocked regions, both are equally geographically disadvantaged and thus neither side is able to decisively defeat the other in a short war, However, whoever Somali region side with will have the upper hand, Somali region is Ethiopia’s primary gateway to seas, 99.99 percent of Ethiopia trade exports and imports come through Somali region. Key supply routes are crucial in wartime.

Eritrea is natural Ally with Amhara. Ifyou put Somalia and Eritrea in the scale, Eritrea weighs more. Actually Eritrea weighs more than Sudan, somalia and Kenya combined when it comes to politics and regional play. Both Assab and Massawa are closer to Amhara plus Eritrea and Amhara compliment each other in so many ways.

Oromuma will be defeated embarrassingly. It will be a shame for so many good hearted Oromos who have positivity to Ethiopia and Amhara. Unfortunately, majority Oromo now is toxic and never learnt from agames. Their endless provocations will cost them dearly

Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia and Kenya are foreign countries, Ethiopia inter-ethnic conflict is none of their concern, I know Amhara are grooming Eritreans but believe me, Eritrea won’t come to rescue Amhara from Oromo. Oromo are not Tigrayans. what Amhara need is supply routes, Nothing else.

It's quite the opposite. Eritreans like Amhara. But Amhara have been opposed to Eritrea seceding from Ethiopia to this very day. Sadly, most of Eritreans see only Tigrayans as their enemies. Every single Amhara I've chatted with believes that Eritrea would/should return to Ethiopia sooner or later. Of course, they don't tell this to Eritreans.

Gallas have staged rallies in support of the ongoing atrocity in Amhara region and Ethiopia's ethnic-based federalism, The rally was organized by Shimelis Abdisa President of Oromia, Adanech Abebe mayor of Addis Ababa and Abiy Ahmed himself.

An independent Amhara nation would be better off but one thing is for sure, Gallas will never allow Amharas to rule Addis Ababa and Galla region again, Amharas will be forced to declare full independence from Gallas dominated war-torn Ethiopia.

Eritrean hatred for Tigrayans is something that developed the past 3 decades or so though there were some seeds of mistrust during the 20th century and some rivalries and animosity during Alula and the hamasiesn elites of the Hamasien republic During the late 19 century.
But for the most part during the hard times Amhara Rule of Ethiopia Mengistu and haile sellasie the Tigrayans and Eritreans stood together. About i mean mostly all Tigrayans didnt have any issue with Eritrea independence even if that ment that Ethiopia becomes land locked Tigray becomes Landlocked. First Tigrayans saw Eritrea always as their second home many Tigrayan elite grew up in asmara or had a parent from Eritrea.

Meles zenawi mother was from Sarea Eritrea Tedros Andhonom was born in Asmara and grew up had most likely also a parent from Eritrea. So basically the Tigrayans saw Eritrea as a land an extension of their own which they saw as partly theirs. They some times say Eritrea should be independent more then the Eritreans so at least one part of the Tigrinya land is Free from Amhara, this was during the Independence years. Though the EPLF didnt entertain these ideologies and slogans because it was counterproductive, though tigrinya majority of Eritrea the EPLF wanted to create an all inclusive Eritrea for all the other 8 ethnic groups and Tigrinya, but the EPLF didnt shy away to use the TPLF to karbaash the ELF jebha and drive them into sudan during their civilwar.
The Tigrayans were given EPLF uniforms and sandals to fight the Jebha this happend. The Tigray Tigirnya conflict is a bit complex. The Eritreans of today try to flirt with Amhara because they have issues now with their Tigrayans cousins . But for the most part the older Generation of Eritreans know what the Amhara are and their ideology . Isias would never really entertain Amhara to Rule Ethiopia.. Ask Deqi Arewit he is very well versed on the Tere sege eaters as he calls them.

I've always said that Isaias is not fooled by Amhara and that he knows perfectly well Amhara are the first and foremost enemies of Eritrea. But what we see on this forum, particularly, is Eritreans whose focus is only Agame, even though ordinary even Amharas on individual basis are against Eritrea's independence to date.

Ethiopia: Military Executes Dozens in Amhara Region

UN Inquiry Urgently Needed; End Impunity for Abusive Commanders

  • Ethiopian armed forces summarily executed scores of civilians in Merawi, a town in the Amhara region in late January and February amid fighting with Fano militia.
  • Since armed conflict broke out in Amhara in August 2023, federal forces have committed numerous abuses with impunity.
  • The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights should launch an independent inquiry into abuses in Amhara, and the UN and AU should consider suspending new deployments of Ethiopian forces from peacekeeping operations.

(Nairobi) – The Ethiopian military summarily executed several dozen civilians and committed other war crimes on January 29, 2024, in the town of Merawi in Ethiopia’s northwestern Amhara region, Human Rights Watch said today. The incident was among the deadliest for civilians during the fighting between Ethiopian federal forces and Fano militia since the outbreak of fighting in Amhara in August 2023.

The United Nations and African Union should consider suspending new deployments of Ethiopian federal forces into international peacekeeping operations until commanders responsible for grave abuses are held accountable.

A news report from Ethiopian Media Services (EMS) indicated that at least 25 civilians were massacred in Ameya district in West Shoa. The militant ethnic Oromo nationalist group that calls itself “Oromo Liberation Army” is linked to it. Among the victims are a new born baby and his mother.

Ethiopia land violence leaves thousands homeless

By Kalkidan Yibeltal,BBC News

Fighting over disputed land along borders of Ethiopia's Tigray and Amhara regions has displaced close to 29,000 people, the United Nations says.

Fighting began last week between forces from the two regions in Raya Alamata district, which is claimed by both.

Officials in Amhara have accused forces from Tigray of launching an invasion, but former rebels in Tigray deny this.

A two-year civil war ended in late 2022 in Ethiopia, after central government signed a peace deal with Tigray forces.

However, issues of contested areas, disarmament of ex-combatants, and the fate of hundreds of thousands of Tigrayans forced out of their homes during the war remain unresolved.

The contested district of Raya Alamata had been under Tigray until war broke out in 2020, but the Amhara forces have since seized it.

Following the resurgence of the latest fighting, Tigray forces have reportedly advanced towards some areas in the district.

Life-saving assistance is urgently required, the UN said, adding that some families were sheltering in open areas in nearby Amhara districts of Kobo and Sekota.

Meanwhile the embassies of seven Western countries - including the US and the UK - have released a joint statement expressing their concern at the reported violence.

They are calling for de-escalation and have encouraged disarmament and demobilisation.

Poverty-stricken Tigray is preparing for a military action to take control of Welkait/Humera as early as next week.
