The OLD Regional Based sets of Laws and Rules can not be the Guiding Supreme Law of the Eritrean Nation which is composed of different Tribes.

The Rule of Law of a Nation like Eritrea is to have ONE universally accepted law by the people or representatives; and that is The Ratified Eritrean Constitution of 1997, which can be amended through time.

Eritrean laws & justice systems- in written form- practiced since the 14thC. In these laws, for e.g. it is illegal to discriminate/call names a person based on color/creed/ethnic/social background.

Minister Fowzia expressed her gratitude & gave awards of appreciation to Ato Eden Fassil and Ato Daniel Semere, for their valued contribution in the arduous task of drafting & codification of over 300 published Eritrean laws which by now have amounted to a total of more 6000 pages

As part of commencement of the #EritreaLawWeek, a seminar titled, ‘Law and Nation Building’ was conducted by Ato Sium Tekle and Ato Senai Woldeab.

Key objective was:
Explaining the space that law occupies and should occupy in crafting identity and history of Eritreans, as well as in standardizing and limiting all elements of nation-building. Efforts of the Ministry & the legal community to enhance legal awareness & public participation, were also discussed.
