Not exactly. In the Republic of Kenya, Oromo communities still live from Moyale in the north all the way to the Indian Ocean coastal regions, including near the coastal towns of Lamu & Mombasa. Near the port city of Mombasa, we can find some of the most isolated and ancient pockets of a hunter-gatherer Oromo communities known as the "waata".
There are the "Orma" aka Orma-Oromo [also known as 'warday'] who live in the large 'Tana River County [Province]' that to the south borders on the Indian Ocean.
Then there are Kenyan-Oromos who live in the central Kenyan County known as 'Isiolo'. Here we find the most southerly Borana-Orom community known as "the Waaso-Borana". Isiolo County is centered around the large central Kenyan town called "Isiolo" that sits just north of the second highest mountain in Africa - Mt. Kenya.
Then, there is the larger 'Marsabit County' that borders on Ethiopia & contains towns such as Marsabit [Saaku] & Moyale. In a sense, three Counties/Provinces of in Northern & South-Eastern Kenya are still majority Oromo - but just as Somalis are moving into these Counties in large numbers & are overwhelming the Oromo communities.
The Orma-Oromo of the Tana River Valley are the most southerly Oromo communities. Some off-shoots of the Orma-Oromo people clans also live around Mount Kilimanjaro & in the northern tips of Tanazania. The major clans of the Oromos in Kenya are: Borana, Orma, Warday, Gabra, Saakuyye, etc. But, there are other more Somalinised Oromo communities in the now predominantly Somai Counties/Provinces of Mandhera [Madheera], Wajir & Garissa.
There used to be various Oromo clans living along the lower reaches of the Ganaale/Juba river in what is today southern Somalia, all the way to the port town of Kisimayo. But most of those have either been decimated in inter-Somali-Oromo wars, by a terrible pandemic such as the smallpox, etc, or have been fully assimilated into the Somali society.
Here is a BBC program on the Orma-Oromo community whose homeland follows the valley of Kenya's biggest river [Tana] & also straddles/touches the Indian Ocean.
