The UN Security Council is likely to meet Tuesday on Sudan

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United Nations Security Council is likely to discuss the situation in Sudan in closed session on Tuesday, diplomats said, after Britain, Ireland, Norway, America, Estonia and France requested a council meeting.

The Sudanese army seized power on Monday and dissolved a transitional government that was supposed to lead the country to democracy after the overthrow of former President Omar al-Bashir in a popular uprising nearly two years ago.
