Today’s air strike on #AlmedaTextile& #MayTsebri health facility are part of a pattern. #AbiyAhmed is trying to distract Ethiopia& world’s attention from his heavy losses in the battlefield. He has almost succeeded. He has also managed to muddy the waters of int’l humanitarian discourse by introducing yet another hurdle to the ongoing effort to seek peaceful solution to the crisis & to ensure unfettered access to aid in Tigray & parts of Amhara.
But by continuing his cowardly air strikes on civilian installations in Tigray such as #AlmedaTextile,#Abiy is trying to achieve one more objective: to get us to retaliate in kind. He wants us to destroy similar installations in #Amhara region. By getting us to destroy plants in #Dessie& #Kombolcha, already within artillery range, he will have rendered Amhara/Tigray divide irreparable.
That we are not against the #AmharaPeople doesn’t sit well with #Abiy’s parochial ambitions. The expansionist Amhara elite is a willful partner in this dangerous game. While we we continue to target #Abiy&co.we won’t fall for such cheap shenanigans though!
