Yes, DTT, TPLF is a liability for any government that associates itself with it. It is political malpractice to stand against the majority of Ethiopians and Ethiopian government, favoring TPLF. For years TPLF sold its reputation to the West pretty well. It just told them they just held together Ethiopia delicately if it happened
to not be there to do just that Ethiopia would disintegrate instantly. The West bought that fairytale. They brainwashed too the clueless about their military might.
Lie might take you to some distance, but not all the way.
The US and European governments now have come to realize Ethiopian nationalism is not a fiction, but a fact. They come to realize TPLF is the most despised political entity in Ethiopia now.
Why the US and the West sacrifice their relationship with Ethiopia in behalf of TPLF. As I said doing so is political malpractice.
About this “genocide” nonsense US and the West have not believed that lie. They just used it to pressure the Abiy government to submit to their dictate.
Abiy turned out to have a pretty good understanding of the US and European politics. Good for him. He prevailed.
One thing I should mention : Abiy has benefited from the TPLF leaders political ignorance. They thought the West would buy their lie. They thought the West would pressure Abiy to negotiate. They thought the West will take Abiy and Isayes handcuffed to ICC. I do believe they really believed that.

Well, "seeing is believing" goes the saying. This is not about words, rather about actions. If they start supporting the needy people, victims of the Junta, then there is no reason to not to believe what they are saying and doing. If the delivery fails, then that is a different issue.

America is not going to babysitting Ethiopia, if you mean something else. That responsibility lies by the owners of the country themselves.
