Commentary

Washington’s escalating hybrid warfare operations against Ethiopia may have cost the United States its strategic influence over the globally vital Red Sea/Suez sea lanes.

The U.S. abandonment of Ethiopia has forced its government to seek allies and protection elsewhere, and Russia, China, and Turkey have rushed in to fill the power vacuum.

The now-open hostility of the Biden administration toward Ethiopia was rationalized as being supportive of Egypt’s position as the United States’ preferred partner in the region, controlling the Suez Canal. Washington also justifies its hostility on claims—widely discredited by the evidence—of Ethiopian “human rights violations” in its fight against the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) Marxist insurgency. But it was the TPLF that began the war surging into the neighboring Ethiopian Amhara and Afar regions, creating millions of refugees.

And despite U.S. efforts to please Cairo, Beijing and Moscow have also improved their positions with the Egyptian government.

As a result, the Ethiopian government, which had seen Washington as its preferred partner, was forced to reopen talks with China—which the government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali had essentially rejected upon taking office in 2018—as well as with Russia and Turkey. Turkey had been regarded as a threat to Ethiopia until this point, given that it had been funding Islamist insurgents in Ethiopia in recent years.

To improve its defense position, the Ethiopian National Defense Force has been acquiring significant numbers of unmanned aerial combat vehicles (UCAVs) from China, Turkey, and Iran and large amounts of weapons and ammunition from Russia, Belarus, and the United Arab Emirates. Russia has been moving Sukhoi Su-27S combat aircraft to the Ethiopian Air Force.

The U.S. moves support Egypt’s longstanding rivalry with Ethiopia—a rivalry which hasn’t been reciprocated—was based on fear that a strong and united Ethiopia could dominate the lower Red Sea and jeopardize maritime traffic coming into and from Egypt’s Suez Canal. Egypt has also alleged that Ethiopia, the source of the Blue Nile, was restricting Nile water flow to Egypt. This was proven to be a false claim, too, although Egypt does face an increasing water shortage due to its growing population. Cairo, however, needs a scapegoat.

China and Russia have been able to prove that they have real leverage in the region by resisting U.S. attempts to have the U.N. Security Council authorize military intervention against Ethiopia. The U.S. move was to help the TPLF and the equally violent—and avowedly genocidal—Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) to break up Ethiopia.

Beijing and Moscow gained considerable gratitude in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital city, by using their veto powers in the Security Council to delay or block Washington’s plans. And Beijing already maintains a significant military base in Ethiopia’s neighbor, Djibouti, and built the new Djibouti–Addis Ababa rail link.

In mid-October, Washington escalated plans for economic sanctions against Ethiopia for refusing to allow “U.S. aid” convoys to be routed through the Ethiopian capital to the TPLF. Addis Ababa quickly discovered that the “U.S. aid” convoys were going merely to support the TPLF’s military operations against both the Tigrayan population and other Ethiopians.

Hundreds of “aid convoys” were reaching the TPLF, but the trucks never returned to the capital. They were diverted to be used by the TPLF to aid its mobile warfare, now well-entrenched in the Amara and Afar regions.

Far from being embattled, the TPLF has been engaging in large-scale, formal offensive military operations and creating what’s genuinely a humanitarian crisis, https://m.theepochtimes.com/t-humanitarian-crisis with massive casualties and an estimated 2 million refugees. The World Heritage city of Lalibela, Ethiopia, in the Amhara region, has been occupied for several months by TPLF forces, who were trained and armed by the United States under the Obama administration.

Long-serving U.N. officials in Ethiopia have complained that, with the U.S. pressure, new U.N. officials have been shipped into the country and have been promoting the U.S.–TPLF line against the advice of the more experienced U.N. country team. Ethiopian government forces had, by the second week of October, begun an offensive against the TPLF, utilizing China’s Wing Loong II (CJ-2) MALE (Medium-Altitude, Long-Endurance) UCAVs, which had been shipped in urgently from Chengdu, China, to the Harar Meda Air Base in Ethiopia, not far from the fighting in the Afar and Amhara regions. The CJ-2s can carry 420 kilograms of ordnance, including precision weapons.

Ethiopia has also acquired Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs, as well as Iranian UAVs.

It doesn’t appear as though the U.S. escalation of political and economic warfare against Ethiopia will abate as long as the Biden administration’s present State Department team is in place. State Department sources admit privately that they’re using the same playbook against Ethiopia as they used during the Clinton administration against Serbia in the 1990s. But the United States was then strategically far stronger, and China, Russia, and Turkey were far weaker.

Afrexim Bank Avails $500m Facility to Commercial Banks

https://addisfortune.news/news-alert/af ... ial-banks/

September 15 , 2021

A pan-African multilateral financial institution is to avail half a billion dollars in a financial facility to commercial banks in Ethiopia, by the end of this month.

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) will provide the resources through the bank's trade facilitation program, designed to help African financial institutions deal with the impacts of the fall in interest international banks are showing to provide loans to them.
It'll ease the recurring forex shortage and is instrumental to boost intra-Africa trade,
said Yinager Dessie, governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), during a discussion held at Radisson Blu today.

The banks will receive the credit from the multinational financier, based on a directive drafted by the central bank to govern foreign currency intermediation between the banks. Drafted a year ago, the directive allows commercial banks to borrow foreign currency from international financial institutions.

Biden Demands Ethiopia’s Unconditional Surrender

Ann Garrison, BAR Contributing Editor

https://blackagendareport.com/biden-dem ... -surrender

20 Oct 2021

President Joe Biden continues to play the cluelessly racist and paternalistic Ugly American https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ugly_American in the Horn of Africa.

Under his leadership, the US has been at war with Ethiopia since last November, when its former puppet, the Tigray People’s Liberation Front, attacked a federal Ethiopian army base in Mekelle, the capital of the country’s Tigray Region. Tigrayans are only 6% of Ethiopia’s population, but the TPLF ruled the whole nation with an iron fist from 1991 to 2018, when popular uprisings forced them from power.

This is hybrid warfare, which may include official censure, mass media disinformation campaigns, sanctions, financial strangulation by the IMF and World Bank, proxy war, special military operations, covert operations, state-of-the-art satellite intelligence, and/or drone bombing. We shouldn’t hesitate to call it war because this is how US wars will be waged, going forward. It’s unlikely that the US will ever again make large troop commitments like those made in Iraq and Afghanistan, but it remains committed to perpetual war for global hegemony. In this war on Ethiopia, as in all others, the US demands unconditional surrender. In a statement https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo ... -ethiopia/ on his executive order threatening Ethiopia and its ally Eritrea with new sanctions, Biden calls on the sovereign Ethiopian government to stop fighting the armed TPLF insurrection within its borders and come to the negotiating table
without preconditions.
The US has already sanctioned individuals, including Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, and Eritrean Defense Minister General Filipos Woldeyohannes, but neither have foreign assets to seize. Since mid-September, Biden has threatened more sweeping sanctions that will punish the Ethiopian people, even as he equivocates that
these sanctions are not directed at the people of Ethiopia or Eritrea, but rather the individuals and entities perpetrating the violence and driving a humanitarian disaster.
Most Western press about the Ethiopian conflict has disparaged the government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and blamed him for the war, even though it began when the TPLF attacked a federal army base nearly a year ago. Last week, however, the journal Foreign Policy published “Don’t Remove Ethiopia’s AGOA Trade Privileges,” https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/10/13/et ... igibility/ an essay by Mamo Mihretu, a senior policy advisor to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Ethiopia’s chief trade negotiator.

Mihretu argued that, if Biden removes preferential trade arrangements under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), https://agoa.info/downloads/legal/2385.html then ordinary Ethiopians, most of all rural women who work in the country’s fledgling manufacturing sector, will be those who suffer. The act, signed by Bill Clinton in 2000, gave tariff free access to the US market to goods manufactured in Sub-Saharan African nations, including Ethiopia. Ethiopian exports then rose from $28 million to $300 million between 2000 and 2020. Thirty-four to 40 African nations have benefited annually from AGOA, since its inception.

This week, during a Web conference with People to People https://p2pbridge.org/, an Ethiopian diaspora NGO founded to improve life in Ethiopia, Ethiopian Ambassador to the US Fitsum Arega https://twitter.com/fitsumaregaa?ref_sr ... r%5eauthor said that he had turned to African ambassadors in the US, the African Union, and their trade experts for support.
We are at the moment in the middle of reviewing the AGOA midterm, and today we had a meeting with African Union leaders in Addis, and the senior trade experts of the 38 African countries eligible for AGOA, along with African Ambassadors in D.C. I moderated two sessions, and I also mentioned the threat by the US Administration to sanction Ethiopia. I asked the solidarity of all African countries to support Ethiopia.

The Biden administration’s deadline for deciding is October 30, so we are left with a few days. On the 20th and 21st, there will be the last sessions with the different US agencies, including the State Department. So, with these remaining days, we are really focused on saving AGOA.

October 30 is the deadline for the administration to send their final recommendation to the Congress. I don’t know of any case in which Congress has failed to approve such a decision, but they will have 60 more days to come to a conclusion.
The Ambassador also said that some of those who place orders with manufacturers in Ethiopia have already put them on hold, waiting to see what will happen. On his Twitter page, he suggested that the African Union learn from the European Union and negotiate AGOA agreements as a block.

Ethiopia has made it clear that it will not sit down to negotiate with the TPLF, or the US, “without preconditions.” To many Ethiopians, that would be tantamount to surrender, not only to the US but also to a rebel army representing six percent of the nation’s population.

So, will the US accept anything less?

Our Worst Fears of a Biden Administration Are Coming True

The Democratic party is where movements go to die and state violence expands

Nick Cruse

https://progressivemartialartist.substa ... tm_source=

Oct 19, 2021

Joe Biden has only been the lesser of two evils for privileged white people, thus far. The Democratic Party, is where movements go to die. Joe Biden killed the immigration justice movement and the #MeToo movement the same way that Barack Obama killed the anti-war movement and Occupy Wall Street. Conservatives are intellectual light weights who, at the end of the day, always lose the battle of ideas. The number one threat to social movements and the barrier to change are the white moderates, who play interference for the forces of oppression. Liberals attempt to justify crimes against humanity committed by the institutions they prop up, by blaming their failures on mismanagement. This is why I feared Joe Biden. It was so obvious Joe Biden was going to put liberal activists to sleep, because they viewed him as a competent manager.

Joe Biden was complicit in building the system that allowed Donald Trump to commit his worst crimes. For example, Biden and Barack Obama built the cages that Trump used https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/fac ... 413683001/ to imprison children. This is why leftists were warning people that putting the guy in charge of managing these unmanageable forces of oppression, that he is proud of creating, is a recipe for disaster. Biden promised to end the detention of migrant children. Meanwhile, migrant detention has soared https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-he ... efec58e74d and their treatment is as bad as ever. https://news.azpm.org/s/87753-report-ic ... e-feeding/ Joe Biden's ICE denied migrants proper medical care, food and shelter, denied access to their families, http://phoenixnewtimes.com/news/arizona ... e-11699672 and even implemented slave labor. https://prospect.org/justice/biden-admi ... ced-labor/

Ever since Joe Biden took office, we have had almost half a million deportations and expulsions. https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp- ... statistics Democrats are only immigration activists, when Trump is in charge. They have BLM in their bios, meanwhile Biden deported over 2000 Haitian immigrants. Joe Biden deported more Haitian immigrants in the first two months of his presidency, than Trump did all of last year.

Right now, immigrant detentions are soaring https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-he ... efec58e74d despite Biden’s campaign promises and progressive politicians being silent pretending it's not happening. Now Joe Biden’s ICE has been caught using slave labor https://prospect.org/justice/biden-admi ... ced-labor/ and force feeding migrants, https://news.azpm.org/s/87753-report-ic ... e-feeding/ and yet Biden increased ICE’s funding. Joe Biden is continuing his legacy as Deporter in Chief. Immigration was a hot [deleted] issue during the Trump era, now liberals could not care less. Barack Obama in his first term deported more people than Donald Trump, and Biden is on pace to repeat that. Liberals and the Democratic party expand white supremacy, in a way Republicans wish they were able to.

Now there are plenty of serious activists with eggs on their face, wondering why things are continuing to get worse and how Biden could get away with lying about all of his major campaign promises to reverse Trump’s worst actions. The Trump Derangement coming from progressives, made them forget who Joe Biden is. The idea that Jim Crow Joe, had the moral high ground over anyone was ridiculous. The guy who lied about his participation in the Civil Rights Movement https://theintercept.com/2020/02/14/ahe ... ctivism-2/ and being arrested in South Africa protesting with Nelson Mandela https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... e-mandela/ is more honest than Trump? Biden, who constantly lied about his record when pressed on it during the debates with Bernie Sanders, https://theintercept.com/2020/03/17/bid ... ankruptcy/ or when pressed by reporters, or activists? From the constant lies, the sexual assault allegations, the pay-to-play politics, and enriching his family through politics, Joe Biden was all but Trump’s equal except playing for the “right team.”

Increase funding of police and fascist crackdown

Young Black people were sold out to the police state once again by progressives and Boomers, who refused to heed the warnings of Black Leftists. The “Build Back Better” slogan from the Biden campaign, apparently, was referring to the prison industrial complex. Joe Biden, during the election, was running to Trump’s right on law enforcement. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/biden-a ... d=72524405 Despite the nonsense propaganda that Democrats wanted to Defund the Police, Biden kept saying over and over again he wanted to expand our carceral state. Why wouldn’t anyone believe him? Now Jim Crow Joe is ramping up the war on drugs, https://www.themarshallproject.org/2021 ... -he-didn-t despite campaign promises to tone it down. The Biden administration, thus far, has been a disaster for Black lives. If you are complicit with funding these forces of oppression that have been killing our people and siphoning wealth from our community, you are complicit with white supremacy,

Seeing Joe Biden, the chief architect of our prison industrial complex, gain ultimate power during the midst of massive protests against the prison state that he built was deeply terrifying. The idea that supporting Joe Biden was fighting white supremacy, was ridiculous. Now Democrats, knowing they have a monopoly on the Black vote, are openly hostile towards our community. Democrats' strategy for 2022 now, is running on funding the police state more. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/murder ... 021-08-17/ The idea that Biden would help tear down the system that he was complicit in building, and proud of building, was maddening.

This is why, liberals are such a threat to black and brown lives. Liberals and Joe Biden, feign support for Black Lives Matter. Liberals eulogize George Floyd, invite his family to the White House, https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/25/politics ... index.html and speak out against police violence only to use that political capital to fund the forces of oppression that are killing us more. How is this not more devious, than what Republicans do? Whenever Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens hint that people like George Floyd were thugs who deserved to die, that only helps our movement. That extreme rhetoric turns off rational people, we can win over. They are easy to beat. Liberals, on the other hand, pretend they are on our side only to stab us in the back later. This is exactly what we are seeing with Biden and why the liberal establishment is so hard to defeat.

The ruling class knows, to never let a good tragedy go to waste. When January 6th happened, it was clear liberals were going to use that to expand the surveillance state. This is a pattern the liberal establishment has used before and it's why, we are in our current situation. Liberals use white supremacy, terrorism, pandemics, and other acts to justify expanding the state. Once expanded, our ruling class then turns those resources on attacking black people, the left, and working-class movements.

New President, Same Imperialism and Empire

Joe Biden, like every president in my lifetime, should be impeached for his war crimes. I will continue to be vocal about this despite the fact that it will never happen, because I will not allow our society to normalize the human cost of U.S. foreign policy. It is incredible to watch progressives allow Biden to get away with his lies, regarding foreign policy. Biden’s lies about reversing Trump’s foreign policy was unapologetic because Biden knows the progressives and the media would refuse to challenge him for having a foreign policy, just like Donald Trump. https://www.globalpolicyjournal.com/blo ... ble-trumps Progressives and the media know, their criticism of public officials ends with any criticism that could be levied at the U.S. war machine.

Just like Donald Trump, Joe Biden is a puppet of Saudi Arabia. Biden shamelessly lied about holding Saudi Arabia accountable, https://apnews.com/article/biden-retrea ... 2d4dd3be33 for their crimes against humanity. In fact, the U.S. is as strong of a patron to Saudi Arabia as ever. This led to Saudi Arabia being so emboldened, that they started targeting journalists and dissenters of Mohammed Bin Salman https://www.theguardian.com/global-deve ... ghts-group after Biden head faked accountability after “investigating” the killing of Jamal Khashoggi. Look at the crisis in Yemen, which is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Ending U.S. support of the starvation https://apnews.com/article/middle-east- ... 93fffb387f and bombing of the Yemeni people were other campaign lie Biden used, to attack Trump. Biden has since legitimized the blockade as a defensive tactic by Saudi Arabia, which makes no sense because the blockade of another country is offensive in nature. This rhetoric from Biden is also how he is able to get away with funding the weapons, Saudis are using. Bernie Sanders introduced the bipartisan bill, to get Donald Trump to end the support in Yemen. Where is that energy for Biden? Why are progressives ignoring this?

Like presidents before him, Biden has been a loyal partner to the apartheid state of Israel. Israel has been launching offensives into Palestine and bombing Gaza, while Biden continues to give them weapon deals. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... democrats/ The Biden administration continues to be complicit with Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians by blocking a U.N. ceasefire three times in one week, https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/5/1 ... -palestine while Israel brutally kicked Palestinians from their homes. Despite the “ceasefire” they would later sign, Israel continues to bomb Gaza and kill innocent Palestinians. All, with the blessing of the Biden administration and support of progressives. Democrats, including progressives, voted overwhelmingly to give Israel more weapons and fund the Iron Dome more. There is no lesser of two evils, for the Palestinian people.

The U.S. and Israel partnership under the Zionist Anthony Blinken, whom Biden named Secretary of State, is why it was obvious Biden was going to abandon all his foreign policy promises. The best example is Biden’s Trump-like approach to Iran. Another blatant lie, was Biden claiming he would return to the Iran Deal. https://fpif.org/biden-must-keep-his-pr ... -too-late/ His promise wasn’t to negotiate just like Trump, keep pressure on Iran, then maybe return to the deal. It was simply, return to the Iran Deal. Biden’s aggressiveness toward Iran, despite his promises, is influenced by Anthony Blinken’s loyalty to Israel and the new Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet who advocates a hardline stance against Iran. https://www.axios.com/naftali-bennett-j ... ad568.html None of this should be surprising, considering the history of Anthony Blinken and Joe Biden. Blinken and Biden played an active role, in manufacturing the Iraq War. https://truthout.org/articles/bidens-pi ... -iraq-war/ Blinken has never met a war he didn’t love and, along with Joe Biden, spearheaded U.S. efforts of interventionalist, mass death and displacement of the middle east and global south.

If you wish to give Biden credit for Afghanistan, fine, but from my perspective as an anti-imperialist, it is unforgivable that on his way “out,” he killed Afghan civilians with illegal offensive airstrikes. This should be, an impeachable offense. A gross loss of human life.

Then the Biden administration has the nerve to implement sanctions on Venezuela https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... -sanctions on Russia https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/20/us/p ... tions.html for “human rights violations”. All, while funding the apartheid state of Israel and allowing Saudi Arabia to kill journalists. https://www.theguardian.com/global-deve ... ghts-group The hypocrisy of the U.S. is insane.

Biden’s Class War

Joe Biden’s lies about his campaign promises, were easy to predict. His presidential campaign was funded, by over 100 billionaires. Joe Biden’s campaign was carried due to Big Pharma and health insurance companies, but we were led to believe he would pass a public option and reduce prescription drug costs? Joe Biden’s primary objective has always been fighting the class war, on behalf of his donors. Biden illegally cut unemployment benefits, https://www.peoplespolicyproject.org/20 ... -benefits/ going against the promises made by his administration. Biden is increasing the funding of the police while he is allowing millions to go homeless, due to his inaction. This economic crash is the result of horrific neoliberal capitalist policies, amid this pandemic.

Do not sugarcoat, what Biden is doing. This is class war. By cutting unemployment benefits, Joe Biden is helping low wage employers force the populace back into the work force despite the fact that there is a soft general strike going on in protest of said wages. This class war Biden is fighting is a figurative middle finger to the progressive base, that helped him win. By refusing to implement a public option, fighting for a $15 min wage, and canceling student loan debt, Biden is being a class loyalist and working for his donors.

Joe Biden lied about all his progressive campaign promises and yet the media painted him as the next FDR, due to the complicity of Bernie Sanders and the Squad. I mentioned before Biden took office that, despite all of my criticisms of Bernie and the Squad, I would be happy if they became the number one enemy of the Biden administration. This was their test, because we never saw the Squad operate under a Democratic Party president before. It's easy to puff your chest out and be this super progressive when Trump is in charge, but how will the Squad act when a neoliberal Democrat is president? As loyal soldiers for the Democratic Party, apparently. Our progressive politicians are allowing Biden to break all of his campaign promises, with zero fight. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe-bi ... k-n1269571

Not only are progressive leaders refusing to hold Biden accountable for breaking his promises to them, but they are also heaping false praise on Biden. Pramila Jayapal even gave Biden an ‘A’ when asked about his performance despite him not fighting for a public option, increasing ICE funding, bankrolling multiple genocides, and failing to act on the climate crisis that is already here. These influential progressives manufactured consent and allowed the corporate media to write ridiculous propaganda that painted Biden as a champion for progressives, who we are happy with. Progressives not slamming Biden’s presidency every day for being the dumpster fire it is, has done immeasurable harm in our fight against neoliberalism.

The best example of this is the shameless interview that Bernie Sanders did with Krystal Ball, where he seemed allergic to criticizing Biden. Biden has shifted the Overton window, that these progressives are willing to fight for. Bernie is doing rallies for Biden’s agenda, not for Medicare for All. Not for ending the wars, not for ending his inhumane immigration policies, not for ending the genocides in Yemen and Palestine, and not even for a Green New Deal and climate justice.

Biden’s Climate Crisis Denying Administration

Progressive weakness against Biden makes even less sense, considering we are in the middle of a climate crisis. There are heatwaves that killed hundreds in the U.S. and Canada https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2 ... northwest/ these last few weeks, massive flooding in Europe, more intense hurricanes and other extreme weather events, and the world’s ice is melting faster than ever. https://www.wsj.com/articles/worlds-ice ... 1611565200 Neoliberal incrementalism, doomed us all. Meanwhile, Biden and his administration continues to drill at a rate we haven’t seen since George Bush Jr. https://www.wsj.com/articles/worlds-ice ... 1611565200

The Biden administration, despite all its rhetoric, has completely denied the seriousness of the climate crisis and refuses to do anything about it. Just like immigration, this is not an issue liberals seem to care about when a Democrat is in the White House. Biden completely dismissed https://www.dailyposter.com/does-not-pr ... ent-cause/ the IPCC report https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg1/ on the climate crisis and continues to expand offshore drilling and promote fracking, to the dismay of environmental activists.

This shows, the fundamental disconnect between liberals and leftists on this issue. Liberals seem to believe, there is a “middle ground” on fighting climate change. There is not. People need to realize, that even a lot of conservatives acknowledge the climate crisis is happening now. Climate denialism is not just denying the reality of the climate crisis, its failing to take the proper steps needed to combat climate change. We are governed by two parties in America, that are climate crisis deniers.

Biden killed, the immigration justice movement. Biden killed, the #metoo movement. Biden killed, the climate justice movement. This is the exact same way, Barack Obama killed the anti-war movement. The Democratic Party, is where movements go to die. The same liberals who cared about all these important issues are making a thousands of excuses for Biden, or they simply don’t care about their ideological inconsistency. That is, what these political cults are so good at accomplishing.

I warned people, that Biden would put people to sleep. Last year, we had the largest protests since the Civil Rights era. Then, when Biden was elected, people went home. We should have never left the streets. We even had Black Lives Matter claiming victory, when Biden won. https://blacklivesmatter.com/black-live ... s-victory/ Unreal. Now the organization is upset at Biden https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/29/black-l ... eform.html which is good, but it was100% predictable that he would betray us considering he ran on funding the police more than Donald Trump. What the hell were they expecting?

There should not only be protests for police violence. There needs to be pressure put on our representatives regarding reparations, the fact that Biden is funding ICE more than Trump, funding the apartheid state of Israel and helping their genocide, illegally cutting unemployment benefits, refusing to expand Medicare in this pandemic which guarantees healthcare for all. There are countless things to put pressure on Biden for, but just like my biggest fear, once again a Democratic President killed social movements and put people to sleep.

The concept of “pushing Biden to the left”, is one of the most poorly aged political concepts I have ever seen. It did not make sense, at face value. Why would a politician change, after his opponents fall in line and demand nothing? In fact, this strategy has been so horrible it got Democrats to shift harder towards Trumpism. When I wanted to defeat Trumpism, I wanted to defeat it in all its forms. Liberals don’t understand Trumpism is more than the man, at this point. Giant police budgets is Trumpism. Funding ICE more and keeping kids in cages is Trumpism. Being a puppet of Israel is Trumpism. Allowing Saudi Arabia to target journalists is Trumpism. Refusing to fight the climate crisis as scientists recommend is Trumpism. I can go on and on, but this was the ideology I wanted to defeat. Meanwhile liberals are pacified because the ideology of Trumpism has just been passed on to a gentler, more easily marketable puppet in a suit. Exactly what I was afraid of.
