AUKUS and Submarines: The Fallout for FranceThis strategic partnership was based on a common analysis of the dangers weighing on the Indo-Pacific with an increasingly aggressive China in the maritime domain. This shared vision, which reflects France’s commitment in Asia, had been developed since 2016 around the supply of 12 French conventional submarines to Australia – at the time, the Australians rejected any idea of nuclear propulsion – but went far beyond that sole industrial interest.
This was before 3 months, in September, 3 months latter the image looks totally different:
In the meanwhile Ethiopia is having its big laugh at the drama on the stage here. French President Macron boasted about his country's military cooperation of few hundreds million $"At the request of the President of the Republic, I have decided to immediately recall our two ambassadors to the United States and Australia to Paris for consultations,” the foreign minister said. “This exceptional decision is justified by the exceptional gravity of the announcements made on 15 September by Australia and the United States.”
Ethiopia, France sign military, navy deal, turn 'new page' in ties, which it then claimed to have cancelled/suspended, allegedly because of failing to meddle itself in the internal issues of the country, in which it couldn't meddle in a better way other than cancelling/suspending a relatively low business deal.“We are here in a friendly country where we want to strengthen and build a new page in our common history,” Macron said. “Since you became prime minister our vision (of Ethiopia) has profoundly changed.”
France suspends military cooperation deal with Ethiopia
Allegedly this deal with Ethiopia was worth of 100 million dollars, while that of Australian-French deal, which has now been also cancelled is worth of 90 billion $.
That is why Ethiopia should have its big laugh now, God protects Ethiopia!
