Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Alexander Isak, who is also a target for Barcelona and Liverpool, in the January transfer window.
According to a report by
Transfer Market Web,
https://www.transfermarketweb.com/trans ... sak-221322 Alexander Isak is the subject of interest from Arsenal over a move in the January transfer window. The Real Sociedad striker is also being courted by Barcelona and Liverpool, with the two giants having submitted an enquiry for him as well.
Alexander Isak has come leaps and bounds since ending a frustrating spell at Borussia Dortmund. Having joined Real Sociedad in the summer of 2019, the Swedish international has finally made some massive strides in his career, especially at international level, having starred for his nation at UEFA Euro 2020 as well as the recent FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.
To date, the 21-year-old has a record of 34 goals and five assists in 93 appearances
https://www.transfermarkt.co.in/alexand ... ler/349066 for La Real, with his performances starting to get noticed by some of the biggest clubs in Europe. As things stand, Isak is being tailed by the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool, among others.
The interest from Barcelona is understandable, considering both
Sergio Aguero and
Luuk de Jong are only going to be short-term solutions in attack, with the former only signed on loan. With
Martin Braithwaite also likely to be offloaded at the earliest opportunity, it is clear that Barcelona can do with a striker, with Isak a viable target.
Arsenal, on the other hand, could be eyeing Isak
http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2021/ ... nder-isak/ owing to the uncertain future of [/b]Alexandre Lacazette[/b]. The Frenchman has entered the final year of his deal with the Gunners, with a
Bosman move likely next summer. With
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the wrong side of 30, Isak could be the long-term successor for the Arsenal captain.
As for Liverpool, the inconsistent performances of
Roberto Firmino appear to have prompted the search for a striker. More importantly, with
Divock Origi surplus to requirements at Anfield, Isak is a player who could initially replace Origi before eventually becoming Firmino’s successor.
As per Transfer Market Web, Arsenal are keen on signing Isak in the January transfer window while Barcelona and Liverpool, along with Juventus and AS Roma have made an approach for the 21-year-old. So, an intriguing transfer battle appears to be setting up for the Swedish international, who could well be on the move in one of the two coming transfer windows.

Signing Alexander Isak “not impossible”
Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has yet to receive a fresh contract offer from the club, despite assurances
https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... a-confirms from boss
Mikel Arteta that the Frenchman’s future is due to be resolved.
With a contract situation that is looking more and more likely to end in the former Olympique Lyonnais standout leaving the club on a free transfer in the summer, news via Football.London’s chief Arsenal reporter
Chris Wheatley regarding Swedish international Alexander Isak
https://www.101greatgoals.com/news/tran ... move-isak/ couldn’t have come at a better moment.

Speaking on the
Latte Firm podcast,
Wheatley refused to rule out the possibility that the club could target a move for the Real Sociedad standout and former Borussia Dortmund wunderkind, though he quickly cooled speculation;
Not impossible – I don’t think anything is impossible when you’re a club like Arsenal. Arsenal certainly do have money to spend. I don’t think it’s one that’s likely to happen anytime soon, but he is one Arteta likes.
Isak, who signed a contract extension
https://www.90min.com/posts/alexander-i ... tract-2026 this summer, is coming off a 2020-21 La Liga campaign which saw the now 21-year-old bag 17-goals and add 2-assists in thirty-four league appearances for Los Txuri-Urdin.
Arsenal not actively targeting Brighton’s Yves Bissouma
Much to the chagrin of countless Arsenal fans on social media, the Gunners are not actively in pursuit of Brighton’s instrumental central midfielder
Yves Bissouma.
Also mentioned by Wheatley in his recent podcast appearance, the capital outfit are not in the race to bring the Malian international to the Emirates any time soon.
There have been calls aplenty from the fanbase for Mikel Arteta and club technical director
Edu Gaspar to prioritize Bissouma, who has become a midfield mainstay at the Amex Stadium under
Graham Potter while drawing attention from other Premier League giants the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

A huge jump in club size and the demands that come with it are expected for the former LOSC Lille midfielder, but as it stands, Arsenal are not prepared to go to war for his signature, whether it be in January or the following summer window.
