The twisted agame heart.

The Hawzen massacre was an act of mass murder committed against the Tigrayan civilian population in Hawzen by Derg military forces during the summer of 1988 as a result of that many Tigraians immigrate in all directions especially to Eritrea. at this time was an Eritrean family spotted a young child collecting cartoon paper for his night sleep at the street of Tesseney. They came close to him to ask him where he came from and where his family is, and they came to know that he was from Hawzen Tigrai and his Family was murdered by the Ethiopian Army and he is the only survivor left.

After hearing this heartbreaking story of the young child the Eritrean family decided to do something, their kind soul urged them not to leave him in that dark street so they took him home with them, after a wild he fitted easily with his brother and sisters of the family, seeing this the mother and father said since this went well we should adopt him after all he has no family left for him. so they adopted him and After 3,4 years they see him as their own child and he accepted them as his beloved family.

From 1988 - 1990 the war in Eritrea was worsening and a military skirmish was everywhere, so the family were at a crossroads whether to immigrate to Sudan or to go up to Keren for much safer for their children and they started to hide their valuable belongings. one night when all gathered together the father and mother told their children that they want to share some secret, that is to show them where their valuable items were hiding in case God forbid anything happened someone who survived may use it. so they showed all hiding places for their kids and they show them in a time anything happens what to do where to go as a common basic survival mechanism to all their children.

this time 1991 the war and news of war were everywhere, the battle was not only in the surrounding of Tesseney but everywhere in Eritrea and central Ethiopia itself, death and destruction were a common sight, things start changing quickly from day to day, before the family deciding where to go the end of the war fast approached to their relief, with all their children and their adopted son save and sound endly they made it to the peaceful era at least they thought.
by now their adopted son is a young man for some reason eager to return to his home country, He claimed he was the only suviver but confuse them why he is so anxious to go back where his family massacred, anyway they encouraged him to do what he wants, but one day he just left at the middle of the night without telling them where he is going, or saying goodbye.

From 1991on wards the family have had nothing heard of him, they simply lost track of him, the family were worried, they started asking people who came from Tigrai to work on the Gash Bark farming areas but some of the people claimed they came from the village he said to come but they know nothing of his family name or his name,
"We came from where your adopted son told you came but we don't know him or his family".

they started to lose hope, in 1998 when the Ethio-Eritrea war was about to start all the Tigraians in Eritrea were ready to pack to go home.
The war started and After 2 years the Ethiopian army breaks by the western front and enter Tesseney the Family were caught unprepared to escape from the town.

On that very day May 25, 2000, in the evening the family were sitting on their step door hearing news anxiously from the radio, suddenly they started to notice that the Ethiopian army unit was already in the town, as the day time went by, a silent dark night approach here for the first time start to see Ethiopian Army around them,

at the same time start to notice the military unit come closer towards them lead by one young man armed with an AK-47. the family simply move aside from the doorstep to let the military man in, and to show them that they are civilians and they haven't hide anything, the military unite didn't say anything but even it was dark they notice a familiar face in one person, in particular, the one who leads the unit to the house.

the mother urged by motherly love came close to him and asked if he is her lost son, but the young man with a shy smile avoid her question enter the house and directly to the place where the valuable item was hidden.

The family started questioning their eyes, and their mental state, by what is up folding on them, to some it is a dream a kind of nightmare when you can't get up.
The young soldier took all the mother's jewellery and any kind that he can carry and left the house in the middle of the dark night.
This kind of History of the Tigraian must be written and put in save for future generations to learn from it.
