The humanitarian crisis in Tigray continues unabated. #AbiyAhmed still continues to prevaricate on the issue when & if he meets foreign dignitaries. It’s his weapon of mass destruction.
We cannot help but notice that many in the Amhara region under the control of our forces are also facing the specter of starvation mainly because the Regime in Addis Ababa wants to take advantage of their plight for its sinister designs. Communications and electricity are cut off in Wollo, Gondar & Afar by the regime. We have made it clear that we are not against people in those regions.
In fact, in areas where there have been supplies, our forces have helped facilitate distribution by elected representatives. It is far from stellar, but there have been efforts to this end.
We are ready to work with int’l humanitarian org’ns in facilitating aid to the needy in those parts of Ethiopia that are under our control. It is rather unfortunate that #Abiy has extended the Siege on Tigray to both Amhara & Afar regions. While we insist the responsibility falls squarely on the regime, we are ready to play constructive part here.
