I think this is not about switching side, it is only about a redployment on a different battle front.

TPLF has started another front in Oromia through the recently announced so called alliance. There was a media report I saw somewhere today about the so called Shane disgruntled elements raising their "flags" in some Kebeles of East Wollega, after removing the Ethiopian Flag. Ermias is suddenly concerned for Wollega, lol. The connection is clear. The goal is the same, but the fronts could be strategized differently.

TPLF is losing ground on the northern front, according to many media outlets and statements coming from different military officials.

So, it has to look for an alternative front, the front on the Oromo side seemed to be more "promising" currently and it is possible that resources are also deployed accordingly, on the more promising front.

Ermias was much concerned about the "swallowing Oromumma" and how can he now say in public that he regrets for not speaking up for the swallowing entity?

They can do everything but can't be allowed to insult our intelligence.
