If you are virgin to Ethiopian politics, which I don't think so the Amhara is and was a boggyman for all political organization. Even Unitarian organizations like G-7 EZEMA with their ESAT worked hard for Amhara not to organize. In Addition to that, the Amhara regional state government also, once a prostitute for TPLF discouraged it and positioned itself to do poll dance for oromo organizations. With all that, the fano and militias arming themselves did a marvelous job on defending whatever they can. Abiy himself is a culprit here since he was crying when Asaminaw started training Amhara liyu police which only lasted 3 rounds (10k soldiers)

It is only now that Abiy and all those parties blessed Amhara to be armed. I.e when they were kicked out in Tigray. We are confident that the Amhara will prevail. Things are moving in the right direction

Organization, unity, mobilization, etc is part of it. If you are not organized and united under a strong or efficient leadership, then a smaller but more organized and determined group can beat you or at least, inflict some heavy damage on you.
If Amhara's have an efficient leadership, no doubt, they can push the TDF back and win, because they have the numbers, the resources, and have the regime of Abiy & Isayas to back them against a common foe. TDF/Tigrayans have no allies, but to be fair, Tigrayans can be brave and tough when they need to be. They will have to consider ''western tigray,'' a loss, but they can definitely make Tigray be free of the PP regime, because if you have the masses on your side, you can repel any enemy trying to colonize or subjugate you, even if it's at a high cost.
