Sickening to have a diaspora village to begin with. Is this supposed to be some kind of gated community or what? I would rather live in the adjacent farm houses than in these ugly cement blocks. It irritates me when everyone tries to get a slice of land and condo in Addis when Ethiopia is larger than our imagination and has more to offer than a cement box.

It is very difficult to complete construction especially for diaspora. The main problem is the government policy which requires one to get construction permit every year. And getting the permit is a very corrupt process which seemingly benefits corrupt and balege individuals at woreda and kifle ketema offices.
And the second problem is lack of honest locals who can be authorized to supervise and oversee the construction. Unless the owner takes time off and fly to Addis and get the construction going it will be difficult to complete it.
