Regarding land disputed between Tigray and Amhara

Post by sarcasm » 30 Jul 2021, 08:36

"Regarding land disputed between Tigray and Amhara:

Such claim is not unique to both regions. It is all over the regional states in the country. If solution is to be put on the table, then it should serve the whole claim in the country and it must be constitutional. Because, the regional states are formed based on the criteria set in the constitution and also there is an article in the constitution that address the very issue of claim to be settled peacefully.

The argument coming from the Amhara regional state is, the disputed areas are "Amhara lands" because they were under the former Gondar and Wollo regions before EPRDF assumed power. This presumes that either the people who were existing in the two regions were exclusively Amharas or there was a so called “Amhara land” which includes Gondar and Wollo prior to the formation of the Amhara Regional State. Both presumptions are wrong. There was no “Amhara land” as a region before and Gondar and Wollo were not home exclusively to Amharas either.

Both former ክ/ሃገሮች, for example, were home of Tigrayans, Agaws, Qimants, Oromos and Afars. When the new Regional States are formed, the people at border areas were partitioned according to identity, language and etc. People in Abergele area of former Tigray ክ/ሃገር were included in Wagkhemra zone of Amhara RS for the people were predominantly Agawgna speakers. My home area of Tselemti in the former Gondar ክ/ሃገር has been partitioned to Tigray RS for the people were predominantly Tigrigna speakers. According to the constitution, even the Oromia zone or Agaw Awi or Wagkhemra zones in side Amhara RS can claim to be regional states.

If claims, because areas were administered under some former ክ/ሃገር, are to be the source of conflicts, no regional state is immune of the fire. And some regional states will not survive. Afar has to return lands taken from Tigray, Wollo and Hararge. Benishangul has to return lands taken from Gojjam and Wellega and so on…

In general, the perception that TPLF as an organization and its leaders as evils, war mongers and power-hungry entities is wrong. Most of the time there seems a pattern in Ethiopia and others in judging TPLF, its leaders and the people of Tigray at large which opens to a wrong diagnosis and leads to a wrong conclusion and initiates a wrong action and finally produces a wrong result."

TPLF annexed Raya and Welkait by force even before the "constitution" is drafted. TPLF even did not respect its own constitution

You can not use the constitution to solve an issue that is forcefully annexed before the constitutions is made. You can not draft a constitution and try to use it to solve an issue created before the constitution is implemented.

Only fools accept your argument. :P :P

This what the constitution states

Ethiopia's proclamation No.7 /1992

A Proclamation to provide for the Establishment of National/Regional self governments

page 4

4. Delineation of Borders of National Self-Governments

4.1 The adjacency of territory settled by a nation, nationality and people shall be the basis for the delineation of the borders of the National Self-Government.

4.2a) The borders of Woredas that existed prior the 1974 shall be taken as the bases for delineation of borders of adjacent National Transitional Self-government until the details of the geographical borders of each nation, nationality and people are specifically laid down.

Why you love to lie

. There is no cultural change or expansion in Amhara region. Agow is a tribe of Amhara (Abysinnia) people that live in Waghemra (Sekota People’s) and Awi Peoples related only to Amhara people.

Why you love to lie so much Oromo is only 2% of Amhara region they are not even indigenous they migrated a few centuries ago on the lowlands by afar .

Amhara is mentioned by European visitors with its own districts. This is the same source that juntas use. It lists districts of Semien Gondar equal to Bete Amhara as districts of Amhara
