It is a different time. If Samantha Power is planning a visit to Ethiopia hoping to lecture Ethiopian politicians, she should be prepared to a rude awakening.
If she starts to make a deal, whatever that deal is, with the Ethiopian government accusing it with genocide is a non-starter. If she will do so, she should be asked to leave Addis immediately. That is because there is no genocide in Ethiopia.
Millions of Ethiopians have not demonstrated, volunteered for military service, and signed up for military active duty because they are genocide loving millions.
No, they are true Ethiopians who are energized to eradicate the political cancer TPLF.
For that of their resolve they do not require power’s permission. I watched one or two interviews she gave over the years. The lady is highly overrated. The Abiy administration should not be intimated by her cadre like talking points.
In fact, it is my wish that Abiy should not meet her personally.
