Demolish the Menelik Monument and burn the Menelik School

Post by EthioRedSea » 28 Jul 2021, 23:48

Ethiopians should abandon Menelik and his legacy. Menelik colonised Oromos, Somalia, Sidamas, Wollamos etc. He was a slave owner and a slave at the same time.

Ethiopians need to bury Menelik once and for all times for the interest of the future generations. Ethiopian youth needs peace. Menelik is a banda and a traitor of black cause. He is like South African Black apartheid supporters or colonial army who stand against Blacks. The Victory at the Battle of ADwas was not Menelik's Victory - He had a minor role. By signing the treaty of Wuchale, Menelik has shown he was a supporter of colonialism. Amara like Menelik because he gave them land and slaves. Amara people settled in South Ethiopia after Menelik defeated the leaders of Oromo or Galla, sidama, Kaffa etc. He gave the land to Amara people and made South Ethiopians slaves for Amara.

We need to demolish Menelik Monument and forget him. He is not a model for Black Africans.

Menelik did not colonize Somali region

Somali region was carved out of Greater Somalia during the European colonial period in the nineteenth century and merged with the present-day Ethiopia.

At that time Greater Somalia was colonized by European powers, French, Britain and Italy established the colonies of British Somaliland, Italian Somaliland, French Somaliland and British East Africa Protectorate in 1884, 1892, 1889 and 1895. The western region of Greater Somalia was incorporated into a newly created Ethiopia by the British and Part of Southern Greater Somalia was incorporated into Kenya (British East Africa Protectorate) by the British.

Greater Somalia is a victim of European colonial empires.
