Federal Government action against 8 woread's of Afar which Border Tigray region are truly despicable and unacceptable.The zone 2 region(Kilbati rasu in Afar - af) have been under siege for almost 8 months of the ongoing conflict in Tigray by freezing Bank accounts, closing banking services, blocking both mobile and internet connection, cutting off electricity and water.This is against both domestic and international law.

In meantime, the situation is deteriorating and there are political forces which want to use this as opportunity as means of security Hotspot to surpress people's voice against injustice.

We want to urge the Federal government and Afar regional state to find immediately solutions that would lead to lift the siege and support the people in need before the famine hits the area as a whole.
Also we encourage the international organizations that use the same corridor to provide humanitarian assistance for Tigrians, to assess the impact of this siege and provide unfettered humanitarian assistance to safe people's life.
