We need to abolish Amharic as first language and adopt English for all just like Kenya, Namibia and South Africa.

Amharic brings only division and arrogance from a member of the union. It's okay if they wish to speak Amharic in Amhara but rest of union should get ready to share English as the means of communication.

Each should keep their respective mother tongue in their native soil.

I support that for many sensible reasons.

Amharic is not progressive and doesn't have any resources that's competitive in the modern world.

In order to be a competitive, literate and nation with adequate HDI, we need to be open minded.

No more Amharic as francophone language for Ethiopia.

What? The problem of your "hard coded" tinny brain?

In dynamic programming anything that is hard-coded is the killer, but that is above the level of a tinny skull like that of yours.

I think if Afaan Oromo is to compete with or even over take Amharic, Oromo policy makers, educators should not only enforce the language as the official language of Oromia but teach from kindergarten to university levels. Equally, more devising of the Latin alphabet and fine tuning it to be more effective, consistent across the board and efficient than learning Amharic is needed. There will be massive and unmatched literacy rates across Oromia and having a technology edge is very crucial. Today you can buy an ipad/tablet/laptop and they already programmed in Latin but the time Amhara speakers are translating, interpreting, downloading their language, etc, Oromo kids are already developing hard codes.

Especially this will be very handy when it comes to IT, coding, and anything to do with technology because Latin is already the default.

Oromo students will be able to code and deploy apps and other technology far more effectively and efficiently.

Focus on these natural advantages.

Amharic will always lag behind in these fields.
