The problem with your argument, Eden, is you framed it badly. You thought what was going on boils down as an Abiy war against Tigray. All those Ethiopians who supported Abiy, God forbid who shoot at TPLF insurgents, were engaged in business that should be none of theirs.
Well, my friend , they took it as their business. Yes, Abiy has played the mobilization part well. But they could say I pass it. Thank you very much I have a better thing to do.
On the contrary, they lined up to register for army. They volunteered to join regional especial force. They have been fired up. They have smelled blood.
Do not put the blame on Abiy or the willing Ethiopians.
Put the blame where it belongs : the TPLF politicians who couldn’t understand the basic of Ethiopian, or for that matter world, politics after living it for more than half a century.
I have observed politics more than half of my life. In this observation I have come to realize TPLF the more it exercises politics, the more clueless it becomes about it. It is an interesting political entity my dear.
Trying to frame the ongoing conflict as if it is between Abiy and Tigray does not fly. Stop undermining Ethiopians’ intelligence. They pretty much know the on going conflict is between Ethiopia and TPLF. The more that truth sink in, the better , Eden.
You are100% correct because this project is an exclusive Ethiopian peoples project. Ethiopians were sick and tired of tplf banditry, war mongering, aggression, hollow supercity complex and complete lack of even the slightest form of modesty needed for basic human relationships. Over two long years the Pm was practically begging them to keep all their movable and immovable looting on top which they may also stay and participate in the governance of Ethiopia.
Even tplf lady oligarch was spokesperson of the Ethiopian parliament a position which she rejected and left for Tigray even with out informing any one about her voluntary resignation. Even this single case shows that tplf is completely irresponsible, arrogant and anarchist beyond belief. For almost all of these two long years during which the tplf was sitting and conspiring in Makale and behaving aggressive and threatening the PM was so much over calm while the people were trying to urge and push him to do something as a leader. The people needed peace and smelled peace! And peace comes when the country's laws and rules are made to be respected and enforced by all means.
The PM traveled even up to the tplf's hiding place, Makale, and after arrival calling the Tigray people as the "Golden People" for whom he would like to distribute all the goodies in the world, like copvid-19 masks, covid-19 vaccinations, fighting against locusts, helping improve agricultural farmings and farm outputs, etc. instead of thinking of distributing arms to militias and police to go and fight the tplf. But no, the tplf wanted ONLY the fight and the blood. And it went for it directly. So as you put it correctly the PM was pushed by the willing Ethiopian people to go organize Ethiopians send them to enforce law and order at any cost and through that defend themselves just like peace loving nations.
