Tigrayans will eventually stop the tegadalay dancing and realize that....

Post by Sadacha Macca » 04 Jul 2021, 18:34

They have to think long term, where do they see their state & people in 5, 10, 15 years, from now?
Independent and still in perpetual war with their neighbors who can deny them access to the outside world, to import, export, etc?
Or a part of Ethiopia and reduced to their rightful size/position-being a minority group, that will have to accept that oromo's and amhara's are the more dominant, influential, group? Even then, they will eventually have to make peace with one side-with afars and amharas, which means accepting that welkait and other lands are gone for good, and of course badme too, to the north, if they wish to exist in peace, as opposed to be in a never ending cycle of no war no peace-the same thing they tried to forcefully impose on Eritrea?

Ironic how things play out, right? I do not wish ill for Tigray, but they need to think strategically and realize that they are letting their emotions blind them.

Sadacha,

The recent euphoria is blinding them. They may have won the battle, but the war, it is long ways from here. They don't have to accept their minority status, they can declare their independence, but they need to work with their neighbors including Ethiopia (Assuming that, they declare their independence). They need a friendly government in Eritrea, otherwise, they are still entitled to export and import through Eritrea, provided that they pay the fair price for the service. The welqait issue is a big problem. They can not live without it, neither can the amharas. That is like the Palestinian issue. Another option is stay with the Union and join amhara in one single kilil. They have very much similar culture anyway. It is mind boggling. It looks like South Sudan issue under Beshir back in the days.

Sadacha all of the sudden pro Ethiopia should raise eye browse. This indicates Tplf has replaced Olf and Sadacca is asking Tplf let us work together.

As usual, you miss the entire point. I'll always be a proud son of the Oromo nation, no need for tplf and tplf takes a lot of the blame for what happened to their people and to Oromos and Ethiopians in general.
This post was to remind tigrayans to think of their future, not the present, and that making peace with their neighbors is the only way to avoid such wars and problems for the next generation. They should stop the tough talk of war and realize, whether they stay with ethiopia or go their own way, they will always have the same neighbors [afar, amhara, eritrea], so they will need to sit and compromise with their neighbors eventually.

BTW-one can be pro ethiopia and pro oromo at the same time, but my definition of ethiopia is a de-centralized, loosely federated group of autonomous states that do not interfere with the governance of the others states, but we meet in the middle and negotiate/compromise on mutually beneficial matters such as security, economics, etc. Eshi? Tole? Tole!
