_How do you see Ethiopian election board chairman ,Burtukan Midekesa, good or bad

Post by Abaymado » 19 Jun 2021, 01:35

This election is the worst in the world. I don't know why election will carried out in Oromia killil as far as no opposition parties are allowed to contest? Burtukan is an aszshole galla.
The only election that is going to be expected with somewhat kind of positive outcome is in Amhara killil and Addis Ababa.

Probably the main problem in this country is the opposition party, which is affiliated to the rulling party called Ezema. Why didn't they confront the ruling party and the election board to correct this constraints in the oromia region?
Surprisingly we have heard that Ezema and the ruling party is planning to negotiate on uniting their force or voice after the election.

After Birtukan Mideksa signed Weyane's "pardon" form as a condition for her release from prison, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) -- a U.S. Government agency that was founded to promote democracy abroad-- in an effort to help the TPLF run alone and win every election in Ethiopia, it offered Miss Birtukan a US settlement and awarded her a scholarship to attend Harvard University, ironically to study "the principles of democracy", as if to suggest her lack of knowledge about democracy was what put her in TPLF's prison. Siye Abraha was also a recipient of NED's scholarship to Harvard.

The Arab Spring was financed by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), where before the revolt, Arab youth leaders were brought to New York and received training on social networking and mobile technologies to promote "democracy" in the Arab world. In other words, they were taught how to incite a revolt. The Arab Spring countries have since suffered instability, war and haven’t really changed much at all.

Birtukan is a NED chick, so her loyalty to Ethiopia is questionable.

Fiyameta,

You are wrong. Clearly you are not familiar with JFK school of Government or its functions. At Harvard, JFK is is not where you learn the principles of democracy; you do that at Harvard college. The school Seyie, Abebe Gelaw, Birtukan attended is called JKF school of governent a sort of semi -professional certificate program and MA in policy studies. The people who are invited to JFK are professionals - former politicians, ministers, generals, political activist where the program is largely in seminar format and experiential.

It is also wrong to blame Birtukan for Meles' one party rule and one party election. It is this kind of ignorance driven generalized baseless accusation that is so toxic and an idiotic culture that killing the Horn of Africa. Get of the back of Birtukan; she is one woman around with integrity and courage in our region where ignorance, anger, hostility is the norm.

What has Birtukan done to harm anybody in Ethiopia or Eritrea to hold your kind of hostility toward her? Clearly you lacked the gravitas and raw material to experience what Birtukan has achieved and you sit some where in a dark room spit out insults and accusations! How tragic!

In fairness, people should be evaluated by their deeds not by their ethnicity and blind hate as Abaymado is doing or not by the school they visited as Fiyameta is suggesting. Birtukan was always an honest person with high integrity and impartiality. I really don't know any other person in Ethiopia who enjoys the level of integrity and impartiality like Bertukan among the wider spectrum of Ethiopian society. She many times also demonstrated beyond doubt during this election that she stays loyal to the facts and will always execute her job with high integrity. As a single mother, she paid a heavy price for democracy under the brutal TPLF and most likely was raped and tortured. She never harmed her country and is currently serving it with high integrity and impartiality. After taking election board she turned it to the first ever independent institution in few months. Currently, no institution in Ethiopia enjoys the level of independence like hers followed by may be the Ethiopian human rights commission.

I'm not saying she is flawless. She of course makes mistakes as any public servant and should be criticized and scrutinized based on facts as any public servant. The good news is, Birtukan enjoys a wider acceptance among Ethiopians from the wider range of society and opposing political parties. This gives me hope!

Go Birtuakn Go! We are blessed to have you as our public servant!

Abaymado, before complaining and crying foul please ask the reason why PP will win in Oromia. Complaining and crying is easy but trying to understand the reason takes some thinking and collecting data.

In Oromia there are 3 main political parties. PP, OLF and OFC. OLF is currently fighting with itself and could not even hold a general assembly let alone fill candidates. The chairman and the executive committees are currently fighting out their differences in courts. So OLF is out of the election. The remaining OFC said it will not participate in the election unless its leaders Jawar, Bekele Gerba etc. are not released. So it boycotted the election. When 2 out of 3 main parties don't participate in Oromia it is clear PP will win.

Why are you blaming Birtukan? She tried many times to bring OLF leadership together, she even offered the offices of the election board so that they can hold their general assembly together but they refused even to talk to each other and went to court. And OFC, they are demanding Jawar & co. to be freed so that they take part in the election. You know Jawar & co. are jailed after the death of Hachalu and after the massacre of civilians in Shasheme. What can Birtukan do? She can't order the courts to release Jawar & co. It is stupid for OFC to boycott the election.

Tell me what can Birtukan do? She can't force OLF and OFC to participate in the election. Blaming and crying is easy and lazy. You have to learn to be fair and look at all the facts.

You ask why will PP win in Oromia? If you ask a question, then try to read the answer. Otherwise don't ask.

What the fk are you talking about? did I mention about Oromo's parties, or do I care about them?

There are more than 15 million Amharas living in Oromia region, but there is no single party that fulfill the demands of Amharas. They are forced to elect PP party only.

This is just unbelievable. All parties should have the mandate to participate in the election in Oromia killil but that didn't happened. For example Ezema is only participating in small part of Oromia. ABN or any other parties are not participating there because the ruling party is forcing them out by making oromia region ungovernable and war zone.

The election board should give high priority for regions that are very risky, and should extend the election in Oromia region or they can cancel the election as a whole.
