Fitsum Arega is the measure of Abiy's diplomatic corps - simply incompetent, alien to the English language, unprepared, untrained, inarticulate and shy. He is symptomatic of the underlying Ethiopian problem with low caliber ethnic groupies who run Ethiopia - the only exception being Abiy . But, the buck stops with Abiy. Why he surrounds himself with mediocrity says something about himself and his decision making. My guess is that probably he is picking these mediocre guys for their loyalty and their views on Ethiopian unity - hence the trade of between ideology and competence within the PP universe. Abiy's major weakness so far is his unwillingness to hire top skills outside PP ethnic circle.

Our hope is that perhaps the next election will produce a solution to these problem of knowledge, competence and expertise. Let us see if a critical mass of other party candidates come into the mix to access a larger pool of skills and expertise.

Goshu Wolde, brilliant, professional and true Ethiopian. His oatory, language proficiency, articulate and experience is truly amazing. If Abiye had surrounded himself with brians like Goshu, we would be in a better position as a country but like Roman said he surrounded himself with loyal idiots, inexperienced and "ውታፍ ነቃይ ብቻ" which didn't help him nor the country. Abiye needs to wake up or soon it will be too late.
