Post by DefendTheTruth » 04 Jun 2021, 09:50

The current Chairperson of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, also said: "Ethiopia is a special place when it comes to Africa, this country is a symbol of African Unity"

@4:30 and onwards, he differs continued unity to prayer and God,a sign of angst and uncertainty over the future and an elegant way of delivering a high Beta over a high prospect Investment!

I don't think that it is something unheard of to back your resolution with a dose of your faith.

Nothing new, just a matter of "ye hamet negadewoch" here.

A Banker is not known to preach about some optics, he knows where to put his money and the guy knew Ethiopia is a place where it would be worthwhile to put something like 1.7 Billion US-Dollar at the moment. How can a banker with an angest or uncertainity dare to get into such a business?

The 1.7 billion investment portfolio happened over the last 30 years, a success at that, but of concern over the high volatility that started to manifest in the last 2 years.

Bromance and rapprochement between Abiy and Adesina notwithstanding, Adesina cant override the drop in actual credit worthiness rating of ethiopia. Abiy is building a systemic risk that even the credit ratings dont show. He is building a political state where everything could go smooth for a while and gets whipped out overnight! Proof is plenty including TPLF built Tigray.

I am a good economist here, after Ethoash left us, I had to overtake the position.

If the government is good at finishing its projects on time, as demonistrated on multiple occassions, then borrowing is a golden path. You use someone else's money to make profit, as simple as such.

Or, do you have an argument against the project finalisation accomplishment of this government?

The credit rating you are talking about has got its own declaration of goal and it has to adhere to that.

Africans need their own rating agency by now.

I am missing the guy and I will join in the prayer, if it works and get him back.

Gearhead,

Remembering the recent & most embarrassing gaff by Biltigina's xirb-cadre named Shimelis Abdissa [that Ethiopians don't want rotten American wheat], here are Zinabu, his wife zinash, Shimelis & that Nigerian pastor visiting the "golden wheat fields of Arsi/Bale" that, they hope, will save Aethiopia from begging the ferenjis to donate their rotten wheat to feed millions of starving Ethiopians. DINQEM!!

Intriguingly, Mrs Zinabu [Mrs. Zinasha aka wife of Zinabu], rejected the hands of Zinabu as seen on the video. Insiders claim that that lack of love between the two is a reflection of a serious marital problems at Arat Kilo's palace as Zinabu is accused of sleeping with some of his female ministers [the minister for the telephones is one  ] & female aids. Himmm .. juicy

''Mind renewal'' projects to what exactly? I believe in the concept by the way, but the country is applying for a "common framework'' which in return require standard project evaluation and transparent execution! Right?

The "common framework'' is your eyes, Sir. Are you applying for the "800 massacred in broad day light" phantom reporting?

Try every avenu that comes your way, good luuuk, no luck!

It is to be remembered that Abiy scolded Parliament for asking transparency regarding the feasibility and transparency of the many park projects that he runs. The last time parliament was rebuffed was when it requested accountability from METEC officers! Abiy blames METEC while he practices the same methods to avoid accountability!

Meanwhile, ministry of finance is grappling with debt right off issues through the ''common framework'' approach. Here, transparency is at the core of the issue!

King Abichu is not having his way! His opaque park projects are challenged! Fitch and now Moody are downgrading ethiopia's rating which in turn is affecting AfDB's stellar AAA rating!

They can keep downgrading us as far as our economy is on an upward trajectory, that is where my bread comes from, not from the rating crap, using the same and outdated old lazy template. It is no more a fit for a different setup we have here.

Only Oromia regional state was reporting recently to have increased its revenue from below 27 Billion Eth. Birr in a year last year to over 31 or so Bill. in just 9 months this year, projected to reach about 34 Bill, Eth. Birr at the end of the year.

THis is where our bread comes from, not from the rating thing and we value our bread more.

DT,

But it is Ethiopia that went on and requested debt restructuring which brought about the disorderly way that PM Abiy has been running his Park Projects! When God is a God of order and structure, PM is using God's name in vain when he uses it as a shield for his wanton ways, which border money laundering schemes. Ethiopians, as requested by parliament demand transparency!!

As not caring for the ratings...well abiy's honorary guest, Adesene cares about it so much so that ethiopia's downgrade affects AfDB's ratings as well, thus his reasons for the visit! Please dont insult your guest which you exalted in your own topic heading! Moreover, Ethiopian's who are recipients of benefits from bilateral institutions care about their credit rating. Ethiopia's bond ratings are not the personal properties of KING Abiy!

Abiy's intransigent ways are stressing AfDB and keeping ethiopia out of a newly re-capitalized AfDB to a tune of 208billion. Abiy's refusal to fix his internal political problems as well as correct his opaque park projects will cost ethiopia dearly including undervaluation of the contracts it bids out. Eg. Vodafon license sold at a steep discount because ratings defects.
