EU'S Unwillingness to Observe Ethiopian Election Is a Blessing in Disguise - We Will Stand On Our Own Feet!! Yebo, Ebo !

Post by Horus » 03 May 2021, 20:29

This is Horus, I hate to mince words.

Ethiopians don't need, have never needed the approval of any colonial power on how we live our lives! We want democracy not to make some white Europeans happy. We build our democracy by ourselves and for us. Ditto.

There are many friendly countries who will observe and witness our election process - AU, India, Russia, any number of countries. Our election is never a tool for EU/US imperialist designs.

American elections are not observed another imperialist country. European countries conduct their own elections without the approval or control of another power or country.

Ethiopia is a free nation, able, free and sufficient to conduct her own election by her own people.

Long live freedom!!! Long live independence!!

EU's unwillingness to witness the upcoming Ethiopian election is a clear indication of the collapse of US led world order. I CALL IT A CRISIS OF THE COLONIAL HABIT.

Who gave EU or US the right, the moral superiority and the divine power of deciding the political life of other nations and peoples. This old, dangerous, evil habit of European colonial mentality and mindset is in deep crisis because the America global alliance is disrupted and on uncertain trajectory. This is a multipolar, multiverse, multipower world situation. There is no US/EU owned rule-based global order. It is a fiction.

Ethiopia can't be dictated, can't be forced to bow and kneel to meet the global ambitions of any colonial or imperial power.

The African Union is 2000% able and capable of witnessing our election!!!

They have no clue what kind of country they are dealing with. They think without their blessing everything goes down the hill. We remember Obama calling the weyane government democratically elected, so since When their observation became a seal of approval for anything to do with democratic election . After 2005 election Meles went on rampage when he know he lost the election on landslide, but after killing 200 and maiming more that 800 protesters , he flew to G 7 meeting in Europe to rub shoulders with Bush and Tony Blare . He was their son of a bi-ch so whatever happened to Ethiopians didn't matter . If Abiy stands on the principle and do what he promised to do Every Ethiopian should support him. He just need to put the country in order, they know that is his weakness . If he closes that loophole, he will be Ok.

Woyane fake elections were for the ferenjis sponsors of that evil regime...
Current real election is for the people —- not perfect but this shows the ferenjis crocodile tears of democracy and human rights are not their true values or intentions...

EU should not be allowed to meddle with Ethiopian politics.this time their attempt to reinstate the terrorist TPLF as a political entity has come to screeching end.

AU election observers are sufficient and effective for Africa.

EU should be given the strong middle finger.

Lets Hope the people of Ethiopia are given genuine ,peaceful and transparent opportunity to elect their leader.

Too many Ethiopians are too emotional and unable to keep a cool head to see things pragmatically. Emotions are bad advisors when it comes to politics.

Come on, AU observers? They are a joke! The EU also observes the US and european elections and many democratic elections. They only agree to observe if they think the election has any chance of being free and fair. The very fact they wanted to come shows they do indeed see this election in much better light than the woyane fake elections which they never bothered to observe except the 2005 election.

I agree Ethiopian election first and foremost has to convince Ethiopians of its authenticity and this election did a much better job at that.

The EU gave the reason for their cancellation not that the election will not be free and fair but that the government prohibited them from importing mission communication systems (more of a technical and security issue).

It looks to me that the government became nervous (may be after the demonstrations in Amhara region) and wants to sit out this one. I think it is not a bad idea this time because the government currently has to deal with so many pressure from in and outside and another pressure from the EU observation team may only make things worse. EU observation mission normally holds way too many press conferences thereby generating too much international media attention and forcing the government to react to every of their complaints. I think sitting out this one is not a bad idea.

I hope we are in a better stable position in 5 years and the EU hopefully observes the election as they do in all democratic countries. A seasoned democratic system has nothing to hide and should let any serious observers in. Whether we like it or not the west remains our most valuable long term partner for decades to come. Anything else is a self delusion and a high way to hell.
The EU regrets the refusal of the fulfilment of standard requirements for the deployment of any Electoral Observation Mission, namely the independence of the Mission and the import of mission communication systems, something that is key for the security of EU observers, in particular in the context of a challenging security environment.

Amazing how the ousting of TPLF did miracles and transformed the good old wise Borana man to a nasty liar TPLF cadre with endless boarding fake news threads. What a transformation

Temari,

The EU does NOT just observe elections. It has been feeding millions of your starving relatives for at least half-a-century now.

Additionally, the EU has been keeping the very fake stuff called the 'Ethiopian state' afloat via its more than a billion US$ budgetary subsidy without which there won't be the state of Ethiopia to speak about.

Laughably, the habashi monkeys are obsessed about the concept of "Ethiopian sovereignty" [DINQEM SOVEREIGNTY ALAT!!] when: a) ferenjis stand for justice in Ethiopia against the brutes habashis support, b) their Ethiopia is the least soverign country even by Africa's standard considering all the ferenji aid that keeps it alive.

The AU, on the other hand, does not even provide your permanently-starving zinjero relatives with a sack of boqolo grains as the EU itself is subsidised by the EU in the tunes of 500+ million US$ a year.

Does all that make sense to you? .. If not, watch the following video & think about the EU that WILL be asked to feed millions of your permanently-starving relatives .. year in & year out.

EU is making a mistake. The eternal maxim has it that there is no free lunch in this world. In one word, EU' interest or disinterest is not some random European behavior. It is both a behavior and practice that is driven by underlying pragmatics and motives - some of these motives being simple colonial sphere of influence, markets, cheap labor and cultural and political hegemony.

For Ethiopia, this election is not an abstract metaphysics; it is our real time, real experiment and trial with a culture of democracy. And, these periodic elections are not political magic. They are continuing long and variable processes. For example, in the next election, if 1/3 of eligible voters truly exercise a true and trust worthy election, it would a smashing success for Ethiopia, Birtukan and even for parties such as PP and EZEMA.

If there 600 election weredas and if only 200 weredas carry out successful and honest elections the whole effort would be recorded as good election. This is our own school of democracy and self-government. Those with hidden agenda in the matter preach a one shot perfect election bla bl !

Those people, those communities, those weredas zones that truly interested in peace and stable Ethiopia will conduct a good/very good elections. sure, EU's exit may be bad news for parties and politicians that have financial interest but for our people (those who are willing to participate in the election) it is their practice, it their political process.

Horus, please first check the facts soberly. Have you read the EU statement? The EU is saying the government blocked them from observing the election not the other way around. The EU didn't just cancel the observation, no they canceled it because the government refused the import of communication systems the EU observers needs. Remember the EU observers were invited by the election board and not by the government as far as I know. I don't know why people are emotional and barking on the wrong tree (EU) instead of making the government accountable for blocking the EU observers.
