Lying has become a defence mechanism for Agames, defence from the harrowing nature of their defeat. If what happened to Agames had happened to any ordinary people, they would have been devastated and gone berserk. But Agames have evolved a defence mechanism that protects them from horror stories. For the last one thousand years, the situation in Agameland was that of famine, diseases, pestilence and wars of raids and counter raids. Agames never tasted peace or ordinary life. As a result, they developed an exceptional ability to take the punishment and yet believe that everything is hanky-dory.
Compare their situation today with that of Nov 3, 2020 before they started war. The TPLF was in full control of Agamland that stretched from Humera to Raya. Today, over 40% of that territory is gone for good. On Nov 3, TPLF leaders were alive and well. Today, most of them are dead, others are in chains, and the remaining few are on the ran. On Nov 3, Agames were living normal and peaceful life. Today, their lives are hell. On Nov 3, Agames in the Diaspora were sure that they are superpower. Today, they know that they were defeated in three weeks. The list is endless.
Yet, Agames believe that everything is ok, no disaster has befell on them. How is it possible that all the defeats they have suffered has not put a dent on their psyche. Because of that defence mechanism which changes defeat to victory, they can take all the punishment.
Agames have evolved the skill to lie to themselves and then believe their own lies. How else could they survive. Now I understand Darwin's theory of evolution.
