What does USA want in the HoA?

Why is USA engaged in a dangerous and unwinable destabilization, ethnic division and fracturing of the Horn?

The first objective is to kick China, Russia and India out of the Horn, the Red Sea and Indian ocean.

In order to weaken the influence of China in Ethiopia, USA want to dismantle Ethiopia, make it ungovernable, and make Ethiopia a failed state that is unable to pay its China loans.

In other words, USA is literally destroying Ethiopia in order to punish China by spoiling their investments in Ethiopia.

In other words, America is planning to expel China out of the Horn at the expense and tragedy of the Ethiopian people.

American Horn policy is already dead on arrival. USA is fast turning 200 million Horn population into anti-America anger and possible become a fertile soil for anti-west terrorism in that part of the world.

So, why do all these seemingly highly educated Harvard and Tufts graduates making such stupid mistakes?

What ever the American motive, the Horn of Africa must unite as one army and resist this uncalled for American imperialist bullying !

American Imperialism? kkk what exactly does EZEMA mean by that?kkk It is to be remembered that a year ago, EZEMA was gung-ho anti-china and a blind neo-liberal orthodoxy [deleted] when it believed that it could maneuver its government takeover out of the USA! Now that the unintended consequences of its maneuver has backfired and that its approaches are going to be challenged, it assumes a violent anti-dollar stance, in the same line as Ghadafi and Isayas Afewerki!

If Dr. Birhanu and Andargachew Tsige want to take an anti-dollar stance, they shoud first convince their party and take it officially rather than hiding behind curtains and trying to rally behind chants of china, india and russia towards the same stance of violence against the dollar-yen dual world order!

It is to be remembered that Ethiopia successfully maneuvered and even thrived in the yen-dollar world order by taking advantage of the best feature of each while intellectually challenging portions of each which it did not find best fit for its own condition...namely bretton woods orthodoxy of the dollar and the high risk premium of the yen!

This black and white approach is that of unprincipled EZEMA and a faction of Isayasian PP and not that of ethiopia.

Perhaps EZEMA and its two leaders need to be analyzed by major publications because its backhanded influence on ethiopia is immense, even higher than that of novice abiy.

Prof. Berhanu Nega said on multiple occasions that party politics and sectarian interests will all take a back-seat when it comes to national interest and you can't fill even half of his shoe-size. He is a patriot while you are a known band, for a country so unsignificant on the global stage on the norther tip of the african continent.

On US-China contention, you are right. That is exactly what I said. But India is also the 4th super power after China, USA, and Russia. India want to create an Indian ocean Red sea power center that views Africa as one of its pillars. In short, there is tension between India and USA on these regional issues. USA now defines the Horn of Africa to be an integral part of West Asian (middle east) geopolitics.

The influence US exerts on the world is diminishing. And it will not have the power it enjoys even a few years ago. The Abiy administration knows that. It should not and will not take side with either US or China. It should keep having a diplomatic, economical relationship with either as long as each respects the sovereignty of Ethiopia.

India is a super power, a vast market of more than 1.3 Billion consumers. A 21 century imperialism is not looking for and fighting over territory, it is all about an access to a market. If you are looking for a market and ignoring the vast market infront of you then you have already lost the game, you can correct me.

At the same time Indians are the engine of modern world economy, which is based on electronic data processing and most of the top IT giants of this world are disproportionately overtaken by indians. I think even Microsoft couldn't resist the temptation.

IT will empower the world economy and India will keep empowering IT for the foreseable future, I am afraid.

I agree. I also think the move to categorize TPLF & OLF as terrorist groups is on the money. We shouldn't be surprised if a year from now US/EU join Ethiopia in eradicating terrorism in the Horn. By this anti-terrorist law, Ethiopia has effectively framed the core policy issues of the Horn.

Ethiopian internal instability is very much driven by these two terrorist groups & their external backers - Egypt, Sudan & Rice guided US policy. In particular Ethio-Sudan & Ethio-Egypt relations will be tested with this Ethiopia Anti-Terrorism Law.
