Agames Have Become Experts at Putting a Good Face On their Horrible Situation

Post by sesame » 23 Apr 2021, 04:58

To put a good face is a phrase used when a person acts as though a particular situation is not as horrible as it really is. This phrase is too inadequate to describe the way Agames have been acting the last 5 and half months. What befell them would be like an earthquake of 15 in the Richter scale. They lost Welkait and Raya and Badme. Over a million Agame settlers have been evicted. Their bloated sense of themselves received a major blow when their rag-tag militia was defeated in 17 days. Their revered leaders have been hunted like wild dogs, shot or paraded in chains, the stark images of humiliating defeat broadcast every where, and recorded for future generations to mull over. The Agames have been forced to fabricate feel good news because there is nothing good coming out of their broken Tigray. Yet, throughout all of the months of disaster, Agames everywhere have been behaving as if they are on the march. They don't see the absurdity of their words when they speak of the "liberated areas" of Tigray. I think their ability to lie to themselves has, at least in the short term, helped them retain their sanity. But for how long can they continue the charade that their enormous defeat is victory.
