Eritrea summons OCHA rep. to the country.
UN Res. Coordinator in Eritrea, &, OCHA's Res. Rep. to the country were summoned by Foreign Ministry today. Eritrea strongly protests against wayward practices & fallacious reports issued by OCHA (& couple of other UN Agencies), on basis of opaque networks/affiliations with TPLF.

This is the country, that's attempting to lecture us & the rest of the world. Smh!
There're no UNSC meetings about this though, & never will.

Re: Eritrea summons OCHA rep. to the country.
OCHA's DG told the UNSC, that 150 people died of hunger in Tigray. But, Ethiopia DPRC commissioner Mitiku Kasa said no single person died in Tigray due to hunger. Dr. Tedros, his associate, tweets prove @UNOCHA's political, not humanitarian, statement.
No One Dies From Hunger In Tigray: Commission
https://www.fanabc.com/english/no-one-d ... ommission/
Addis Ababa, April 16, 2021(FBC) – The National Disaster Risk Management Commission (NDRMC) said that not a single person has died in Tigray regional state due to hunger.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Mark Lowcock yesterday said in the closed-door UN Security Council meeting that 150 people died from hunger in Ofla woreda, Tigray Regional State.
Media outlets, have since been reporting the claim.
Commissioner Mitiku Kassa told ENA that those who do not want the good image of the country used media outlets to spread rumors that people have died from hunger in Northern Ethiopia.
However, Mitiku said the report claiming the death of citizens in the Norther part of Ethiopia from hunger is false.
The distribution of humanitarian assistance has been successful since the beginning of the humanitarian assistance operation in the woreda in question, as it is not among the areas previously identified as having security concerns.
Mitiku said that they have confirmed from experts working in the emergency coordination center in Mekelle and Alamata town, as well as officials in Ofla woreda, that no one has died there from hunger.
The Commissioner added, that he confirmed that a woman has died of illness in the woreda.
The false reports are aimed at tarnishing the image of the country and did not take into account the facts on the ground, he underlined.
Recalling that 1.8 million people in the region were receiving assistance through the safety net program prior to the law enforcement operation, Mitiku said the number of people who are in need of aid has increased.
According to the Commissioner, following the law enforcement operation, the government has provided humanitarian aid to 2.5 million people adding 700,000 people to those who were treated under the safety net program.
Since the number of people who need aid in the region increased to 4.5 million, the government, in the first round, has managed to provide humanitarian assistance to all the people who were in need, he stated.
The government, in the second round, has provided aid to 2.3 million people, which is 70 percent of the total number of people who are in need of support, Mitiku added.
Over 2.7 billion Birr has so far spent on food alone, he said, adding non-food items are being provided side by side to respond to the humanitarian need in the region.
According to Mitiku, aid has even been distributed to areas that were previously difficult to be accessed due to security concerns, with the help of the Ethiopian Defense Forces.
The Commissioner stressed that the humanitarian assistance being provided in the region is going well and confirmed that no life has been lost due to hunger.

Re: Eritrea summons OCHA rep. to the country.
In reality, UN agencies are nothing but western tools to colonize and manipulate developing countries.
Their presence in these countries is so heavy and the amount of money they claim to be spending on behalf of the recipient countries is staggering, yet their achievement on the ground is quasi inexistent!
Recipient countries should have the freedom to decide which sectors, projects, geographic areas, etc., the UN agencies should involve in, and supervise and assess their work periodically. If not, these useless fuckers should be kicked out.

Re: Eritrea summons OCHA rep. to the country.
For example, OCHA says that it has only $135.1 million this year for Somalia, but it requires $1.1 billion and that it has a funding gap of $957 million!
Guess what they do! Unlike UNHCR, they don't even provide any material assistance whatsoever, including food, to refugees and internally displaced people. All they do is coordinating and facilitating humanitarian assistance, and predicting IDPs' movements using stupid satellites and software - and they need all that money only for that!

Thank you, bro.
In 2000, the entire central Mogadishu used to be called a ghost area, as it was exclusive for killers and hostage takers for ransom and of course their victims.
A civil war sends a whole country decades back and it might take an eternity to recover!
