Seyoum Teshome is 100% Right About The Dam!

Post by Fiyameta » 14 Apr 2021, 02:49

The State of Israel angry at Egypt over its violation of their agreement to transfer water from the Nile to Israel via The El Salaam Canal pipeline running through the North Sinai desert, it reached out to Meles Zenawi and ordered him to build a huge dam along the Nile River to blackmail Egypt into abiding by the agreement, which was signed in 1979 as part of the peace process.

It was a perfect order for Meles Zenawi, who during one of his visits to Cairo in the early 90s felt very humiliated when an Egyptian official at a state luncheon mistook Meles for one of the food-servers and ordered him to bring him a glass of water. It was for this reason that the ever-vindictive Meles saw the order to build the dam as a great opportunity to get his revenge against Egyptians for the humiliation.

The order given to Meles was to build the dam but not to fill it with water, hoping its construction alone would put pressure on Egypt to transfer Nile water to Israel. Also, the dam was to be built very close to the Sudanese border to make it easy for Meles to destroy it later and blame it on Eritrea if Egypt starts sending water to Israel. For their services, Meles and his TPLF cronies were to make a lot of money by selling bonds for a dam to nowhere. :x

Despite all this, Egypt continues to refuse to transfer Nile water to Israel.

Then in 2018 suddenly everything changed when the TPLF got overthrown and placed under permanent quarantine at a hotel in Mekelle, Tigray. Ethiopia's new charismatic leader, PM Abiy started to fill the dam with Abay water. This infuriated both Egypt and Israel, the former for fear of losing a lion's share of the Nile water, and the latter for losing its TPLF servants it counted on to blackmail Egypt, thus the two foes forming an unlikely alliance against Ethiopia. Very strange!
