Thousands of ethnic Amhara people have arrived in different towns of Amhara region fleeing targeted attacks in Wellega zone of Oromia region

Mereja Media April 9, 2021

Thousands of ethnic Amhara people have arrived in different towns in Amhara region fleeing ethnic based attacks in Guliso and Babo Gambel districts in Wellega zone of Ethiopia’s Oromia regional state.

The survivors told local media that they were told by government security forces to leave the districts where they lived for more than 40 years.

Last week, armed men killed more than 186 civilians including 72 children in Gambel district of Oromia region in ethnically motivated attacks.

The survivors are arriving in various towns of the Amhara region including in Bure, Bahir Dar, Haiqe, Dessie, Hara and Kobo towns. Majority of them have been sheltered in churches and mosques.

The exact number of survivors who are fleeing the targeted attacks is not known.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed recently said the federal army along with Oromia regional security forces has been taking offensive measures in retaliation of the latest massacre in Gambel district and other places in Oromia and benishangul Gumuz regional states.

You are an idiot, how can we leave our ancestral land? People may die but because of that, do we have to lose our heritage? With their blood, we will create strong and unshakable dynasty. The killing continues because most amara are careless and are not prepared well or they don't want to prepare or listen. If they do, let them die.

Ancestral :| Mengistu forced wollo Amhara into hellholes south of Abay, Amhara needs to be strong by concentrating full power and dominance in our country which is Abysinnia Gondar (north Amhara) [Tekeze River] Gojjam (western Amhara) [Abay River] Wollo (eastern Amhara) Shewa (southern Amhara) [Mugar- Awash River] all Amhara people geographically united and composed into the Abysinnia kingdom/republic and armed together to defeat any hyena that tries to fck with us

You must accept we are no longer holding z Ethiopian Unison

Wellega is not galla's land. Wellega was a land of one of closest family of Amhara-Gafat. Galla is new comer.

"The current Wellega and Illubabar are not lands of Oromo rather they were part of the Damot kingdom once its Gafat population and rulers evicted to Gojjam by the Oromo aggression. In the 16th Century, the Gafat inhabited a long stretch of territory on the bank of the Abbay River, extending from the Wellega river in the northern Shewa into eastern Wellaga (historical Damot), up to the Didessa river, and beyond. Southwards, their area of settlement extended as far as the headwaters of the Awash river: lakes Chala and Zway. The available earlier data indicate that the Gafat had inhabited a substantial portion of this territory in the previous two centuries."

Number of displaced people arriving in Amhara Region from restive Oromia and Benishangul-Gumuz hits half a million people – Official

Mereja Media April 14, 2021

The number of displaced people arriving in the Amhara region has been increasing as ethnic based attacks against ethnic Amhara continue in different parts of Ethiopia.

The Amhara Disaster Prevention and Food Security Commissioner Zelalem Lejalem said the number of displaced Amhara people from Oromia, Tigray and Benishangul-Gumuz Regional States has hit half a million.

The displaced people who fled ethnically motivated attacks are currently sheltered in Chagni, North Wello, South Wello and Gonder temporary refugee camps, he said adding those displaced people who are living within the community are not counted.

The Amhara regional government believes that the displaced people must return and resettle back to their former living areas with joint efforts of the federal government and regional states.

500k amhara? Huge number!
starting from this assumption, we can guess Amhara population will swell up. It will rank 1st in the country. Indeed, it will help us as election date are approaching.

But we know only small proportion of Amharas are evicted (only from Welega and Beneshangul). How many will reach if the whole amhara displaced? 15 million?

15 + 30 =45 million !!!

Amhara will not rule Ethiopia through election, Ethiopia is not democratic country, For now, Amhara should focus on their own Abyssinian region and economic, Abyssinia is endowed with abundance of natural resources such as water and fertile land, Abyssinia has everything it needs to become a prosperous independent country, It's time to forget about Ethiopia.
