Egypt: Ethiopia cannot divert any stretch of the Blue Nile.

Ethiopia: Ethiopia started diverting a stretch of the Blue Nile to make way for the dam.

Egypt: Ethiopia cannot build a dam on the Blue Nile River.

Ethiopia: No force can stop Ethiopia from building a dam, and it has built a super giant one.

Egypt: Ethiopia cannot start filling up any reservoir of the dam.

Ethiopia: Ethiopia started filling up reservoir.

Egypt: Ethiopia cannot fill up reservoir again without binding agreements being signed.

Ethiopia: Ethiopia has already confirmed that it will fill up reservoir again this summer.

Egypt: No one can touch a single drop of Egyptian water.

Ethiopia: Keep barking. There's no Egyptian water in Ethiopia.

Egypt and sudan will be dealing with radioactive water for years to come if they dare touch the dam.
Radioactive Waste stockpile is stored in the vicinity of the river.

All they could do is to bomb the dam, but then this would provide Ethiopia with every excuse to turn a deaf ear to any future talks and negotiations over the Nile, keep rebuilding the dam and filling it up, and even divert any stretch of the Nile at any time!

Although a war is destructive even when it's won and has to be avoided at all costs, it might help unite, or re-unite Ethiopians.

Just a thought!

Somaliman,

I concur with you. You put it in a well researched analogy.

Allow me to add,

Dictator alsissi is just an empty bowl, all his rhetorics are for public consumption. He won't bomb anything while he knows if he vents to bomb the GERD, sudanese towns and villages (not egyptian towns and villages) will be affected by the floods which will definetly ensue and hence, the sudanese won't allow it.

To make the story short:

Dictator alsissi has publicly threatened ethiopia 2 days ago that "everything is on the table" he meant WAR. On the other side, the sudanese here are more diplomatic, their foreign minisiter said yesterday that other option is to go to the UNSC in order to resolve the issue amicably. Unlike the egyptians, she never mentioned war... She is smart, she knows if any skirmish between ethios and egyptians occurs then sudan will be the playground while egypt doesn't border ethiopia.

Just my 2 cents

Cheers!

Kerenite,

You're, I absolutely agree with you.

The good thing is that the fascist fuc.ker (Trump) is no longer in power, otherwise Sisi would be farting louder!
