Ethiopia's war is being fought not just in a blackout, but also in a fog of lies - and Ethiopia's envoy to the EU is making matters worse.
Hirut Zemene, Ethiopia's EU ambassador, recently wrote to EUobserver, accusing Finland's foreign minister, Pekka Haavisto, of making "erroneous" claims after he visited the region and told press that violence and suffering was "out of control".

Zemene's own claims which were full of half-truths and "fallacies", according to EU institutions and independent aid agencies and NGOs.

Another official from an international aid agency on the ground in Tigray was more blunt.

Zemene's letter to EUobserver contained "gross fallacies", the official said.

The source asked to remain fully anonymous for fear of losing what little access their agency had to people in need if they were too outspoken.

One can't help other than feel their frustration, it seems now the whole setup is not running how they wished at the beginning.

According to the website, the Ethiopians should sit idle and take in their unsolicited media campaign, as "credible", "independent" wezeterfe and then turn around and fear to reveal their identity to make their claims in the public.

The bad news for them is that Ethiopia is going to have many many more "Zemenes", not less.

the so called "observer" failed to mention about the so called "Axum Massacare" even when it praised about the "independent" body of CNN, AI, AP etc, was it out of accident or calculated presentation of "alternative facts"?
