An anecdote often repeated my those that took part in the Ethio-Eritrean war repeat how the Tigray Generals deliberately killed Ethiopian troops.
So this is what happened.
There was a point when both Ethiopian and Eritrean soldiers had finished their ammunition and were engaged in close hand to hand combat. Our soldiers were waiting for backup while they were engaged the hand to hand combat. Mid-way into the fight, back arrives, and instead of ordering the soldiers go in help our soldiers. The Tigray generals deliberately ordered for the shooting of our soldiers along with the Eritreans. No, it was no friendly fire it was a deliberate killing.
This is a documented fact you will hear from veterans of the war.
Despite the killings of our soldiers from both sides, we won the war and after all the sacrifice you see in the below picture the murderous Tigray government gave back all the land our soldiers had won over.
