We know what is coming but we don't want to talk about it

Post by EPRDF » 25 Jan 2021, 14:50

When the next phase of Ethio war is going to start between Amhara and Oromo?

I am not a pessimist or ill-wishing for this country but the crack between Oromo and Amhara wings of Biltsigina is wide open, the tiit for tat between these two groups is going on for sometime now, mistrust and suspicion has been growing for many political reasons, Leyu force of both kilils have been stretching their muscles, PM Abiy is not a trustworthy leader and regarded suspiciously from both sides and many pieces of evidence we see on the ground have been leading us to the inevitable Oromara arm confrontation soon unless some kind of mechanism is forwarded to control it.

While there were many possible avenues to solve the problem politically in a civilized way, the Tiit for Tat between Meqele and Addis ended in nasty bloodshed, tens of thousands of displaced citizens, and in need of food assistance for four million people in the region.

Now, as a nation can we be serious and intervene to stop these two Worebla shiftas from starting shooting each other, or we just sitting idle and watching the demise of the nation we call Ethiopia?

To ignore the reality by pretending as if we are in peace simply for killing TPLF old men won't make us immune from the fire that is coming ahead to consume us all. It is only a matter of time.

Now go ahead with the usual Ag.amme stuff, but it is the truth you know and you don't talk about.

Zalmaknun,

The Oromuma project which is a direct copy and paste of Abay Tigray project is the culprit for this tensions. You can't have a state within a state or a country within a country and function as such

The only way out for Abiy at this stage is to outlaw the ethnic federalism, else we are all heading to an eventual collision. The clash on Oromo vs Amhara could be devastating and a lot can die as a result of it considering the number of population and the vast land that shared between them. so they need to be careful, both ends.

I see a lot of irrisponsible acts from Oromo Biltsigina because they promote old antagonistic, opportunistic and provocative ideology to some part.

The only way out for Abiy at this stage is to outlaw the ethnic federalism, else we are all heading to an eventual collision.
The genesis of ethnic federalism in Ethiopia has its own historical reason, it just didn't land from a blue sky. Centuries-old ethnic annihilation and its grievance are that gave birth to it. Thus, Abiy or anyone else cannot dismantle it overnight and bring a solution.

Is ethnic federalism bad for a country like Ethiopia? Yes, it is and needs to be replaced by some form of federalism that reflects multiculturalism, however, by Arresting and killing activists and politicians who support ethnic federalism using military muscle, unless taking the situation from bad to worse one can solve nothing as the country how it stands now.

Sixty-five percent of hundred fifteen million of the population is under the age of thirty. This huge margin of the population born and raised under ethnic federalism within its own defined border of its ethnic homeland. This is the generation that knows nothing beyond its own killil and a subject to be easily mobilized by any force for any eventuality.

Before an attempt to dissolve ethnic federalism, national reconciliation, dialogue in a good faith followed by consensus among all parties including ethnonationalists and secessionists should be a priority. They must drop their ego, come on equal foot and agree to work together in a minimum program that helps promote equality, democracy and rule of law.
Once they are there and begin to build trust and confidence among one another, they will definitely reach at the day to throw ethnic federalism into a dust bin.

Mengistu's demot4 and Woyanes Tebmenja didn't bring a change in forty four years. Oromara should grasp a lesson from this recent past, come to their sense and do the right thing. The Woyane leftover weaponry they have in their hand now won't remove ethnic nationalism nor take them anywhere.

As Misraq indicated when the subnational agenda overrides the national agenda at some point a head-on collision between the two major groups is inevitable, especially if the one-sided (Amharas) has reason to feel it being sidelined by others. All the federal power structures that were emptied out of weyanes have been given to Oromos exclusively. It isn't only they took over disproportion power but they are using this power in a very brazen way to entrench their domination disregarding the concern of others. The Amharas played their junior part hoping that things will get better for all of Ethiopia, but after three years it seems the breaking point has been reached. Although they are co-equal demographically, or at least no significant demographical difference exists, they have been relegated not to have a say on major decisions and multipronged attacks are being committed against Amhara in Oromia proper and in Benshagule while the Oromo dominated federal government abducted its responsibility to protect. The question is had what happened to Amharas happened to Oromo civilian population ODP would have tolerated and given the kind of pseudo justification for it. It would not. So as long as we keep the tribal political as our guiding light the disaster you are alluding to is not avoidable. Sad but true.
