More than 25,000 Tigrayan refugees have flooded into Eritrea since TPLF launched its surprise attack on the Ethiopian National Army in Tigray. Most of the refugees are from Axum, Adwa, Adigrat, Rama, Zelambessa and surrounding towns. During the past week, around 4,000 Tigray refugees have been entering Eritrea per day as the conflict intensifies in northern Tigray.
Do not expect the Eritrean government to talk about the massive Tigrayan refugee influx. It didn't even peep a word when 20,000 Ethiopian troops from the northern command entered Eritrea to regroup after the surprise TPLF attack from Nov. 3-6. Eritrea will quietly take care of Tegaru refugees with its meager resources and without the help of NGOs.
