At least 200 unarmed ethnic Amharas are reportedly massacred in a brutal manner in West Wollega, Ethiopia. It is established by government authorities that the military wing of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) is behind the massacre. An unspecified number of people are also wounded, some with life-threatening conditions.

Bodies were not collected and relatives of the victims had been pleading to authorities in the region to help collect littered bodies in the hope of organizing a funeral.

According to sources a report by Gobeze Sisay, a journalist working for ESAT, the incident happened on Sunday in the evening in Guliso district of West Wollega.

An estimated 40 OLF gunmen called ethnic Amhara residents in Dila Golala and Sekjerbi kebeles in Gulala district of West Wollega for a meeting and they opened fire on them.

A report by Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) indicates that the Oromo regional state confirmed the massacre of ethnic Amharas although the number of casualties is unspecified. There had been attempts by the regional government in the past to hide targeted attacks against Amhara.

The regional government also claims that the OLF Military wing is launching attacks like these ones in coordination with TPLF.

There are speculations that Oromo Liberation Front is coordinating attacks in collaboration with its sympathizers in the Oromo regional state whose head is Shimeles Abdissa who is believed to be a radical ethnic Oromo nationalist.

Some social media sources say that the Ethiopian Defense Force was deployed to the region for months due to the armed activities of the Oromo Liberation Front and that the incident happened following its withdrawal from the region. Who ordered the withdrawal and why? These are questions that the government needs to answer.

The non-stop massacre of ethnic Amhara in different parts of Ethiopia – primarily in Oromo region, Benishangul, and South Ethiopia has been a hallmark of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government.

In late October 2020, at least 31 ethnic Amharas were massacred in Gurafarda, South Ethiopia.

This is gruesome and should be treated as such, not any Ethiopian citizen but any human being shouldn't face such an horror and savagery, not only in his own country but any where on this planet. This is a time when one human being is literally eating another human being's flesh, bad for the world.

But there is something that is contradictory so far, here I hear it is a mass gun fire, somewhere else I also heard it is grenade attack.

RIP for those who lost their precious lives and my condolences for their loved ones.

This Tamagn Beyene's post reminds me of Tsegaye Ararsa's post at immediate aftermaths of the assassination of Singer Hacalu Hundessa at the end of last june. The guy rushed to accuse the Amharas for the crime and called on the Oromo people to rise up and attack the Amhara people immediately.

Here Tamagn is also already raising his finger at some people before we have even known what has happened and what its magnitude is properly.

How does he know who should be responsible and calling for the punishment of obbo Shimales Abdissa and now asking for no waiting to begin collecting the evidence against him?

በኢትዮጵያውያን ላይ እየተፈጸመ ባለው ማንነትን መሠረት ባደረገው ጥቃት እጅግ ማዘኔን እገልፃለሁ።

የኢትዮጵያ ጠላቶች፤ "ወይ እኛ እንገዛለን፤ ወይ ሀገር አትኖርም" ብለው ተነሥተዋል። ለዚህም የጥፋት ዐቅማቸውን ሁሉ እየተጠቀሙ ነው። አንደኛው ዒላማቸውም የሕዝባችንን ቅስም መስበር ነው።

ለዚህ እየተጠቀሙበት ያለው ስልት ግራ ቀኝ የማያውቁ ሰዎችን እየሰበሰቡ በማሠልጠንና በማስታጠቅ በየአካባቢው ማንነትን መሠረት ያደረገ አረመኔያዊ ጥቃት ማድረስ ነው። ይህ ተግባር ሕዝቡ እንዲደናገጥ፣ እንዲፈራና በስሜት ያልተገባ ርምጃ እንዲወስድ የታለመ ነው።

መንግሥት በተለያዩ ቦታዎች ሊፈጠሩ ይችላሉ ያላቸውን ጥፋቶች በቅድሚያ መረጃ ሰብስቦ ርምጃ በመውሰድ ሲያከሽፍ ቆይቷል። ነገር ግን ያለፈው ሥርዓት ያወረሰንን ቀዳዳዎች ሁሉ በጥቂት ጊዜ ውስጥ ደፍኖ መጨረስ አልተቻለም።

የጥፋት ኃይሎች ከውጭ ላኪዎቻቸውና በመንግሥት መዋቅር ውስጥ በሚገኙ ባልጠሩ አድር ባዮች ትብብር በሕዝባችን ላይ አሳዛኝ ጥቃት እያደረሱ ነው። ሁኔታው እንደ መሪም እንደ ዜጋም ልብ ይሰብራል።

ይህ ግን ከመንገዳችን ወደኋላ፣ ከግባችን ወደ ሌላ አያደርገንም። ተስፋ ቆርጠን እንድናቆም፣ ተሸንፈን እንድናፈገፍግ አያደርገንም። ከምንጊዜውም በላይ ኃይላችንን አሰባስበን እንድንነሣ ያደርገናል እንጂ።

መንግሥት ሁሉንም ዓይነት አማራጮች ተጠቅሞ የችግሩን ሰንኮፍ ይነቅለዋል። የጸጥታ አካላት ጥቃቱ ወደተፈጸመበት አካባቢ ተሠማርተዋል። ርምጃም እየወሰዱ ነው። በቀጣይም የሕዝባችንን ደኅንነት ለማስጠበቅ መንግሥት የመንግሥትነቱን ሥራ በቁርጥና በጽናት ይሠራል።

ሕዝቡ፣ የፖለቲካ ፓርቲዎች፣ የጸጥታ አካላት፣ ምሁራንና ሌሎችም፧ መንግሥት ችግሩን ከምንጩ ለማድረቅ የሚወስደውን ርምጃ በመደገፍ የሚጠበቅባቸውን እንዲያደርጉ ጥሪ አቀርባለሁ።

He is not accusing any one , Tamang is just pointing out the double talk both by Abbey and Shemeles. Point one:ለመሆኑ ዛሬ ያወጡት መግለጫ በአማርኛ ብቻ ለምን ሆነ? ሁልጊዜም መልክትዎን የሚያስተላለፉት በሶስት ቋንቋ ነበር።ድርጊቱ የተፈፀመዉ ወለጋ፣ ድርጊቱን የፈፀመዉ ደግሞ ኦነግ፣ ሆኖ እያለ መልክተዎት ግን በአማርኛ ብቻ ለምን አደረጉት አፋን ኦሮሞንና እንግሊዘኛዉን ለምን ዘለሉት. Actually, his statement should have been in Oromffia since the ethnic cleansing was committed in Oromia. So maybe Abiy thought telling this fact to promos will be an offence. If he makes the same statement in English that would bring international attention, which might blemish his peace laureate status. Abo Shimells has watched one ethnic cleansing next to the other and his failed to take action to control this kind of ethnic cleansing. Either his admistrantions in the area is usually a no show, or he doesn't help the people to protect themselves. On both counts he failed. While Weyanes was running the show there was less of this taking place , now the Oromos are controling and leading they can't do what the weyanes used to do . Something is stinking to seveth haven.

" He is the leader of the state. We already passed the evidence collection stage long time ago. The so-called OLF Shan and the local administration work in tandem to commit this kind of massacre. It was the case in shasemene, sidama , Harar. So the evidence is so overwhelming to doubt the government's involvement or complete negligence at the local level.

This Tamagn Beyene's post reminds me of Tsegaye Ararsa's post at immediate aftermaths of the assassination of Singer Hacalu Hundessa at the end of last june. The guy rushed to accuse the Amharas for the crime and called on the Oromo people to rise up and attack the Amhara people immediately.

Here Tamagn is also already raising his finger at some people before we have even known what has happened and what its magnitude is properly.

How does he know who should be responsible and calling for the punishment of obbo Shimales Abdissa and now asking for no waiting to begin collecting the evidence against him?

He is not accusing any one , Tamang is just pointing out the double talk both by Abbey and Shemeles. Point one:ለመሆኑ ዛሬ ያወጡት መግለጫ በአማርኛ ብቻ ለምን ሆነ? ሁልጊዜም መልክትዎን የሚያስተላለፉት በሶስት ቋንቋ ነበር።ድርጊቱ የተፈፀመዉ ወለጋ፣ ድርጊቱን የፈፀመዉ ደግሞ ኦነግ፣ ሆኖ እያለ መልክተዎት ግን በአማርኛ ብቻ ለምን አደረጉት አፋን ኦሮሞንና እንግሊዘኛዉን ለምን ዘለሉት. Actually, his statement should have been in Oromffia since the ethnic cleansing was committed in Oromia. So maybe Abiy thought telling this fact to promos will be an offence. If he makes the same statement in English that would bring international attention, which might blemish his peace laureate status. Abo Shimells has watched one ethnic cleansing next to the other and his failed to take action to control this kind of ethnic cleansing. Either his admistrantions in the area is usually a no show, or he doesn't help the people to protect themselves. On both counts he failed. While Weyanes was running the show there was less of this taking place , now the Oromos are controling and leading they can't do what the weyanes used to do . Something is stinking to seveth haven.

" He is the leader of the state. We already passed the evidence collection stage long time ago. The so-called OLF Shan and the local administration work in tandem to commit this kind of massacre. It was the case in shasemene, sidama , Harar. So the evidence is so overwhelming to doubt the government's involvement or complete negligence at the local level.

I heard a certain commentator (in the name of Amhara) saying recently "if a war may breakout between the federal government and TPLF, then the Amhara people should choose to remain neutral from both sides". It should be somewhere on Youtube.

The topic of this post says "Ethiopia: Oromo Liberation Front assisted by TPLF massacred at least 200 ethnic Amhara" and Tamagn and you are already accusing obbo Shimales Abdissa and the PM of the country for this deplorable atrocities.

The act should be condemned by all sides who have some level of humanity left in them.

But your (yours and that of Tamagn) allegation implies Shimales Abdissa is on the side of TPLF and should be responsible for the atrocity, which should be a capital crime if proven guilty.

My suggestion was meant to at least wait until we know more details and give our own (personal) verdict on someone before making such grand allegations but it seems you have already made your mind. Your mind seems to be in contradiction with the topic of the thread itself, whether that is out of allegations based on no base or due to fast changing position in an attempt to accuse someone before you have any facts in your hands.
