Malelit knows tigrai can't be independent. It's playing with tegaru minds, feelings to prolong it's power.
Malelit knows the tigrai people heart and feeling more than the tigrai people themselves, and it knows how it can switch on and switch them off anytime it wants, therefore deep inside it knows that there can never be such thing as independent tigrai, so many tried but failed, example kurdistan, catalonia and many failed dreams of independence. Even aboy sibhat nega told them it is impossible to have an independent tigrai state. Dreams and reality are two different things.
