We need ethnic neutral internal administrative division of Ethiopia, to be called administrative regions or 'Kifle Hager'. We need to have a democratic unitary state with multilingual and multicultural elements. Ethiopia could have have 3-4 working languages. Making Amharic the only working language is promoting of the domination of one ethnic group. This has been counterproductive, which led to the secession of Eritrea and armed movements of non-Amhara Ethiopians ( Tigray, somali, Afar, Sidama armed groups).

As some suggest Ethiopia needs to have a new constitution. The so-called communist notion of 'Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' should be abandoned. Marxism=Leninism should not be the conceptual basis of the Ethiopian constitution, which unfortunately has been under the rule of EPRDF.

The current internal adminsitrative map of Ethiopia could be used to divide the country into administrative regions or provinces. We might be better with a democratic unitary state than with federalism.



We could make some of the zones 'provinces'. As the above map shows , Ethiopia could have about 30 provinces or counties. We should abandon the Marxist Leninist notion of 'Nations, Nationalities and Peoples', which is racist as some Ethiopians are categorized as 'Peoples' which means stone age, primitive people. We need to follow the English or The Netherlands way of administrative division.
