You are right. It is difficult to prove virginity. It should be encouraged for boys and girls to stay virgin until they find the right partner or marry. The idea is to promote the holy marriage and decrease HIV risk. Though some dirty people could make it a business and try to sell virginity. If a girl sells her virginity, then she is not virgin as virginity is not marketable. Virginity is both the attitude and also the situation that some body did not have sexual contact yet. You do that through churches and mosques, or at school, not at a beauty pageant where you are half-naked and supposed to display sexuality.

Ethics and beauty pageants do not belong together.

In my humble Tigraway opinion, when the so-called "democratic virginity tests" in Tigray are carried out by TPLF leaders behind closed doors at Axum Hotel's rooms and under satin sheets, it is no different from when you put a sheep in the same cage as a hungry hyena in order to examine the sheep's predatory and aggressive behavior.

In my humble Tigraway opinion, when the so-called "democratic virginity tests" in Tigray are carried out by TPLF leaders behind closed doors at Axum Hotel's rooms and under satin sheets, it is no different from when you put a sheep in the same cage as a hungry hyena in order to examine the sheep's predatory and aggressive behavior.

That is the whole purpose, to do the virginity test in private at a high-class hotel under satin sheets, not to embarrass the girls.

As the tests are done by credible elderly statesmen, they can use the opportunity to give the young girls fatherly advice and offer them scholarships and monthly allowances.

The best part is that everybody comes out a winner, the girls get to keep their virginity even after the intercourse
The elderly statesman get to make acquaintance with two-three sturdy young girls whose virginity they can check every other week
And the girls get a scholarship and monthly allowances for remaining virgin despite the frequent intercourses
