Almost 100% of the eligible voters in Tigray were registered and the voter turnout became 99.6%, the highest in world history, above the Australian record breaker during its election in the 1980s, in which the voter turnout was 96.4%.
Preliminary results indicate TPLF won almost 80% of the votes, which will give it 150 seats out of the 180 total seats in the Great Tigrean Parliament (GTP), while the opposition parties will take over the remaining 30 seats- to be divided among them in proportion to the votes they received, meaning; Baitona may get 12 seats, TIP may get 10 seats, salsay may get 5 seats, and ADP may get 3 seats. Democracy died in the rest of the world but it got reborn in Tigray.
VIVA TO AGAZIAN TIGRAY.
