I don't see the possibility of Tigrayan seceding from Ethiopia. Most Tigrayans believe they own Ethiopia albeit their 6% minority status in Ethiopian politics.
Article 39 would allow Tigray to secede if the Ethiopian parliament permits. Otherwise, the best Tigray can achieve by declaring independence is to become another Somali land. But, there is a bigger problem. Ethiopia does not have defined and accepted internal borders. That is bigger issue. Hence, Tigrayan independence will bring not peace but war to the horn. However, if it can be accomplished peacefully, as an Eritrean, I have no problem. Meaning, although Italy opps, I mean Ethiopia is my third best favored nation in the world ( After Eritrea and the US off course), I like to keep Eritrea's internal affairs away from Ethiopia as much as possible. Tigrayans need to put the Agazian bull shi---t behind and learn good diplomacy to coexist with their closest neighbors.
