Considering the challenges Egypt could pose related to the completion of the Great Ethiopian Reinsance Dam and the disarray of political parties and the current fluid nature of stability in Ethiopia, election may not be conducted for the next 5 years. It is good that Tigray is conducting the election now so that the next election could by synchronized with the country wide election. Egypt is expected to put huge pressure by interfering in the internal affairs and blocking financial support to Ethiopia to force PM Abiy to sign a zero sum water share agreement prior to the completion of the filling of GERD. The Egyptians will also try to replace PM Abiy with their puppet .If TPLF and PM Abiy resolves thier problem and work together that will be a major blow to Egypts destabilization activities.
