PM Abiy has still a chance to turn around his fate and the fate of Ethiopia1

Post by Axumezana » 14 Aug 2020, 01:37

The change process that was initiated by Dr. Abiy about two years and half ago is facing a major resistance by different stakeholders and there is a high risk that PM Abiy may abruptly decide to resign, which could create a major leadership vacuum in Ethiopia. Though quite a number of people are calling for immediate resignation of Pm Abiy, I am with an opinion that Ethiopians give him one last chance and the following are my recommendations:

- The major shortcoming/ weaknesses of PM Abiy are:
- He was not able to participate all key internal stakeholders and create a shared vision on the change process including the objectives and goals
of the change process and the concept of MEDEMER
- He extended the election without meaningful participation of the competitive political parties
- He created unprincipled and unholy relationship with Isaias Afeworki that strained his relationship with TPLF. Actually he tried to play Isaias
against TPLF for short term political and military gains
- Knowingly or unknowingly he became a dividing factor instead of unifier which is in a direct opposition to his MEDEMER idea
- Divergence between his words/speeches and the actions he has been taking
- Misunderstanding of his divine assignment. God never give a blank check and He expects HIS appointees to follow his directive second by second/
minute by minute, hour by hour and on a daily basis. Abiy knows very well he is appointed by God but he failed to understand how to be
directed and guided by the God who gave him the assignment
- Abiy is now crossed his own red lines and he is killing and arresting his own people
- Recommendations
- Spend one week in front of God and seek God's guidance on the way out
- Officially apologize for the people of Ethiopia on your wrong doings during the last two years and half
- Stop interference of Isaias Afeworki in Ethiopia's internal affairs and curtail the relationship to be only among two independent nations
- Resolve misunderstandings/conflict/rivalry with TPLF peacefully based on win-win arrangement
- Release all political prisoners and conduct all inclusive and rational negotiation to develop a road map for the transition of Ethiopia to democracy
- Immediately stop killing and arresting people in Oromia or else where.
- Declare cease fire with OLF and try to solve problem peacefully
- Do not arrest/harm Ato Lemma Megerssa

Fear is not the reason for my call for reconciliation! War is lose-lose and it is not preferred unless some one is forced to go for war! If some one is forced to go for war it has to be finished in such a way that it brings strategic advantages that benefit the winner. TPLF/EPRDF failed to change the victory against Isaias in 1998-2000 to strategic advantage and paid the price later.
